New Approach to Cloud Security Needed
By Alf Pilgrim

Rivet Software to Open Source Dragon View XBRL Viewer
Open Source Release Part of Continued Evolution of Rivet's i-Fi Suite of Interactive Financial Applications

By: PR Newswire
Nov. 29, 2006 03:22 PM

DENVER, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Rivet(R) Software, a leader in interactive business software solutions, today announced plans to release its Dragon View(R) XBRL viewer application in open source to further drive software innovation and adoption. Concurrently, Rivet also announced an update to its i-Fi(TM) Suite of interactive Financials applications designed to leverage the full potential of XBRL(R) (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) and interactive data. The updated i-Fi Suite includes general availability releases of Dragon Tag(R) 2006 and Dragon View 2006, and the Beta availability of Crossfire(TM) Analyst, to deliver interactive data support throughout the external reporting supply chain.

Dragon View Open Source

Dragon View is the first commercially available client-based application that allows business professionals to easily review XBRL taxonomy and financial document information. Rivet plans to release its source code to the open source community in Q1 of 2007 to encourage the establishment of new communities for open source development of XBRL technology. Placing Dragon View into open source will allow users and developers worldwide to benefit from the extensive development effort and broad user experience reflected in Dragon View. Dragon View played a crucial role in Rivet obtaining a contract from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to create an XBRL viewer for the SEC Web site to view XBRL documents filed under the SEC's Voluntary Filing Program.

"Our release of Dragon View into open source is another important milestone in the continued evolution and adoption of XBRL," said Mike Rohan, president of Rivet. "By working with the open source community we hope to accelerate the ability of users and developers alike to create even more innovative applications based on the XBRL global standard."

Crossfire Analyst Beta Now Available

With the Beta availability of Rivet's server-based Crossfire Analyst, regulators, analysts and investors now have a robust solution to collect and analyze large amounts of XBRL data. Users can easily create highly sophisticated interactive analyses of numeric and non-numeric XBRL data by simply dragging and dropping within Microsoft Excel(R). Crossfire's use of Web services and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds dramatically improve the speed and accuracy of data analysis. Crossfire accesses XBRL filings automatically (for example, from the SEC site) and can automatically update pre-defined Excel-based investment models and reports with immediate distribution to subscribers. The Beta release of Crossfire also includes innovative features to help increase comparability of XBRL data while providing data integrity and drill-back to source information.

Dragon Tag 2006 and Dragon View 2006 General Availability

The general availability releases of Dragon Tag 2006 and Dragon View 2006 deliver new features and enhancements that continue to provide industry-leading support for XBRL. The Dragon Tag XBRL document creation and Dragon View solutions provide companies and regulators with a proven and easy path for implementing the worldwide standard for financial reporting.

"By adopting Dragon Tag 2006 and Dragon View 2006, we were able to convert our current Microsoft Excel and Word data into XBRL format effortlessly and within our existing reporting processes," said Mike Mathies, Chief Marketing Officer of Old Mutual Capital. "As part of the SEC Interactive Test Group, it was important for us to work closely with Rivet and leverage both their software applications and deep domain expertise to make creating and submitting XBRL documents easy and affordable."

Features of Dragon Tag 2006 and Dragon View 2006 include: * Increased automation to make tagging XBRL data easier than ever (Dragon Tag) * New "on-demand" feature allows Dragon Tag to be made available in Microsoft Word/Excel only when tagging is required * Enhanced XBRL taxonomy support for tagging complex business report information (Dragon Tag) * Free application to view XBRL taxonomies and financial documents (Dragon View) * Robust display options make viewing XBRL documents simple and understandable (Dragon View) * Export XBRL information to Excel for further review and analysis (Dragon View) Pricing and Availability

List price for Dragon Tag 2006 is $895 with a free 30-day trial download available. Dragon View is available as a FREE download. Crossfire Analyst is available on a hosted or self-hosted basis and will be generally available in Q1 2007. Pricing and information on participating in the Crossfire Analyst Beta program is available directly from Rivet at Sales@RivetSoftware.com.
