Go Green with AuraPortal BPM

Enhance environmental efficiency with AuraPortal BPM

These days, being successful in business is not enough; go green to achieve full environmental success.

MedioToday’s rapidly evolving society and markets are not only demanding companies to be more productive and efficient, but also to respect and protect the environment. This combination is gradually being consolidated and strengthened by the social awareness that looks after future and current interests.

At AURA, we consider these initiatives not only worthwhile, but critical for a correct modern business management. Hence AURA is proud to contribute to the enhancement of business and environmental efficiency through the implementation of BPM and its integration with state-of-the-art environmental sensors. Below are several ways BPM can manage environmental performance:

1. ISO 50001. Energy Management Standard

Medio2Implementing the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certification with BPM will help organizations to improve their energy performance. By using processes, mathematical calculations, sensors, valve control systems, lights, relays, servos, etc., AuraPortal BPM helps organizations from all industry sectors to achieve the following results:

  • Short, medium and long term energy savings
  • Awareness and control of the amount of energy used
  • Brand recognition

2. Water. An essential component of life

Medio3Water is without a doubt one of the most essential and economic elements of our living environment. In addition to quenching our thirst, 20% of fresh water is used to supply industries globally and approximately 70% goes to agriculture and farming. All of us are responsible for the correct management of this precious commodity. Water consumption can be controlled with BPM processes, establishing the maximum and minimum quantities and alerting when these limits are reached.

3. Pollution. Control of harmful gas emissions

Medio4Pollution and contamination directly damage our health. The release of chemical substances and particles into the atmosphere alters their composition and has a negative impact on all aspects of life. Industrial cities and factories are the biggest (but by no means the only) sources of pollution and, therefore, it is necessary to control their emissions. AuraPortal BPM can control these harmful gas emissions:

  • Pollution in cities (CO, CO2, NO2, O3)
  • Emissions from livestock in farms (CH4, H2S, NH3)
  • Chemical and industrial processes (C4H10, H2, VOC)
  • Fires (CO, CO2)

4. Agriculture. Agricultural efficiency

Medio5It is also possible to control Agricultural efficiency with BPM processes. Crop care can be managed and you can find out about the perfect conditions for plant growth without having to leave your home. The measurement of light, humidity and temperature levels helps to detect potential plant diseases, risk of frost or need for irrigation based on moisture levels in the soil, while at the same time allowing for the monitoring and control of high-yielding (wheat, corn, etc.) and delicate (vineyards, tropical fruits, etc.) crops, either cultivated outdoors or in greenhouses. Hence, top-quality crops are guaranteed.

  • Processes controlling pressure, temperature, liquid levels, light, etc.

5. Farming. Animal growth care

Medio6Good air quality is required in order to maintain animal health and welfare and to provide staff with a suitable working environment. Air quality is determined by the levels of gas, dust and microorganisms (bacteria, endotoxins and viruses) present. It is vital to control the air animals breathe to guarantee their healthy growth. With AuraPortal BPM processes animal growth conditions can be optimized.

  • Control of animal temperature during rearing
  • CIGR Standard. Measurement of gas levels (methane, ammonia, etc.)
  • Control of animal stress levels

Every organization is facing their own Digital Transformation as they attempt to stay ahead of the competition, or worse, just keep up. Each new opportunity, whether embracing machine learning, IoT, or a cloud migration, seems to bring new development, deployment, and management models. The results are more diverse and federated computing models than any time in our history.
On-premise or off, you have powerful tools available to maximize the value of your infrastructure and you demand more visibility and operational control. Fortunately, data center management tools keep a vigil on memory contestation, power, thermal consumption, server health, and utilization, allowing better control no matter your cloud's shape. In this session, learn how Intel software tools enable real-time monitoring and precise management to lower operational costs and optimize infrastructure...

While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
DevOps has long focused on reinventing the SDLC (e.g. with CI/CD, ARA, pipeline automation etc.), while reinvention of IT Ops has lagged. However, new approaches like Site Reliability Engineering, Observability, Containerization, Operations Analytics, and ML/AI are driving a resurgence of IT Ops. In this session our expert panel will focus on how these new ideas are [putting the Ops back in DevOps orbringing modern IT Ops to DevOps].

Enterprises are striving to become digital businesses for differentiated innovation and customer-centricity. Traditionally, they focused on digitizing processes and paper workflow. To be a disruptor and compete against new players, they need to gain insight into business data and innovate at scale. Cloud and cognitive technologies can help them leverage hidden data in SAP/ERP systems to fuel their businesses to accelerate digital transformation success.
Most organizations are awash today in data and IT systems, yet they're still struggling mightily to use these invaluable assets to meet the rising demand for new digital solutions and customer experiences that drive innovation and growth. What's lacking are potent and effective ways to rapidly combine together on-premises IT and the numerous commercial clouds that the average organization has in place today into effective new business solutions.
Concerns about security, downtime and latency, budgets, and general unfamiliarity with cloud technologies continue to create hesitation for many organizations that truly need to be developing a cloud strategy. Hybrid cloud solutions are helping to elevate those concerns by enabling the combination or orchestration of two or more platforms, including on-premise infrastructure, private clouds and/or third-party, public cloud services. This gives organizations more comfort to begin their digital tr...
Keeping an application running at scale can be a daunting task. When do you need to add more capacity? Larger databases? Additional servers? These questions get harder as the complexity of your application grows. Microservice based architectures and cloud-based dynamic infrastructures are technologies that help you keep your application running with high availability, even during times of extreme scaling. But real cloud success, at scale, requires much more than a basic lift-and-shift migrati...
