Westcon Group Announces Intent to Acquire Intact Integrated Services

Builds on Distributor's Global Commitment to Channel Partner-Led and Enablement Services

TARRYTOWN, New York, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced its intent to acquire Intact Integrated Services – a provider of project, support, and managed services to the ICT and Cisco channel industry.  The deal will significantly strengthen Westcon's commitment to partner-led services offerings, empowering reseller customers with broader services capabilities.

Headquartered in the UK with offices in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas, Intact works with some of the world's largest Telcos, OEM's, System Integrators and VARs – helping to generate new revenue, deliver complex technology projects, and support global initiatives.  A specialist in the Cisco channel, the company provides white-label services and support centered on networking, data center/cloud and collaboration technologies.

Intact becomes a critical piece of Weston Group's Global Services Solution Practice, led by Executive Vice President Pedro Galatas.  Helping partners expand their business, the company's focused areas include: Security, Unified Communications and Collaboration, Data Center, Cloud, and Global Deployment.

"Each of our Practices is designed to help partners benefit from the deep technology expertise and real-world business solutions we bring to the table –reflecting how Westcon provides greater value-add than any other distributor in the market today," said Dolph Westerbos, Chief Executive Officer, Westcon Group.  "As a leader in channel services, Intact will become strong foundation in our Services Practice, helping partners generate new revenue streams via value-added services."

Formerly a direct subsidiary of Westcon's parent company Datatec Limited (JSE and LSE: DTC), Intact is exclusively partner-focused and offers targeted lifecycle services and project management support primarily to the Cisco channel.  Intact helps clients accelerate revenue via geographic expansion on a country-by-country basis through the company's INspan global support network -- or by entry into new technology markets in a low risk manner.

"Westcon is a distributor who truly 'gets' value-added services and our unique business model.  This level of commitment fits perfectly into our 'Create, Deliver, Support' business pillars,'" said Alan Rosser, Chief Executive Offer, Intact Integrated Services.  "With strong experience in the networking, security, data center and cloud space -- and one of the deepest global footprints -- Westcon is the perfect match to take our leadership even further."

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed and the transaction is expected to close in May 2014.
