Will Present Trends for Pet and Companion Supplement Products Growth

BOULDER, Colo., April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New Hope Natural Media today announced Len Monheit, Executive Director, Strategic Development, NEXT Data and Insights Division, will present "Reaching Consumers With Pet and Companion Supplement Products - Finding Your Next Customer" at the National Animal Supplement Council's Annual Conference in St. Pete Beach, FL on Thursday, May 8.

Monheit will present New Hope Natural Media's Predictive Consumer Segmentation, which was created to help brands and retailers identify and target consumers most likely to be early adopters of natural products. Five key consumer groups were created from the research, redefining traditional market segmentation. Two of the five groups - #Young4Ever and Chief Health Officers - have the most potential for marketers and companies targeting the natural products marketplace.

The study evaluated over 5,000 consumers -- representing over 90 percent of the U.S. population -- based on early adoption, lifestyle, behaviors, and beliefs toward health and wellness, as well as their affinity for new product concepts representing over 50 percent of a typical grocery/retail store basket.

In addition, Monheit will share new pet products trends from NEXT Trend, an online intelligence solution that offers proprietary pre-shelf natural products data, future trend predictions and insights, custom research and extensive industry expertise that helps companies quickly recognize and act on emerging, high-growth market opportunities.

"With the increasing interest for healthy and nutritious food, consumers have embraced natural and organic pet foods. This category has been growing faster than mainstream brands over the last several years," said Monheit. "I look forward to sharing our research and industry trends to manufacturers of animal health supplements across the globe next month."

Monheit is a recognized natural products industry thought leader and an expert in analyzing business issues and behaviors in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals functional foods and beverages in the USA, Canada, and Asia. He founded NPIcenter as the natural products industry's first online media in 1999 (selling it to New Hope Natural Media in 2006) and has been actively engaged in business strategy and product optimization on a global basis for over thirteen years.  Monheit has also pioneered educational programs to promote industry best practices, is a regular contributor to trade publications and industry events, presents about industry issues, concerns, trends and evolving business processes in the natural and nutritional products sector.
