Amadeus to Present IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) Solution at amasol Customer Day

amasol Partnership With Netuitive Delivers Ground Breaking ITOA Solution Focused on Improving Performance of Business Critical Services

DRESDEN, GERMANY -- (Marketwired) -- 04/29/14 -- Responding to increasing global demand for IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) solutions, Netuitive, a leading provider of predictive analytics for IT, and amasol AG, a leading IT service provider based in Munich, Germany, recently partnered on the development of an innovative ITOA solution for Amadeus, a leading technology and services hub for the global travel industry.

The ITOA solution enables Amadeus to better understand performance of its Altéa Departure Control (DCS) - Flight Management (aircraft weight and balance) system and will be one of the featured presentations at amasol's upcoming Customer Day on May 14-15 in Dresden, Germany.

With an emphasis on maximum service availability, Amadeus sought an IT analytics solution to monitor and enhance performance of its Altéa Departure Control system utilized by more than 100 airlines worldwide. It required an automated solution that could provide holistic visibility into critical application performance and the ability to alert only on IT and business anomalies.

The amasol Customer Day will feature a variety of customer presentations, case studies and workshops -- much of it focused on what Gartner is referring to as IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) that are starting to enable large enterprises to better understand the business impact of IT.

According to Gartner, "IT operations analytics tools enable CIOs and senior IT operations managers to monitor their business operational data and metrics. The tools are similar to a business intelligence platform that business unit managers use to drive business performance. IT operations analytics tools enable users to assess efficiency, optimize IT investments, correlate trends, and understand and maximize IT opportunities that support the business."(1)

Confirmed presentations and participants include amasol customers such as Deutsche Telekom, Robert Bosch and BASF, as well as roadmap presentations and demos from partners such as Compuware, CA, VMware, and IXIA. Other speakers and presenters include companies such Deutsche Telekom, Robert Bosch, BMW and BASF IT, and Dr. Thomas Mendel, noted industry analyst with Research in Action.

In his keynote address, Dr. Mendel will examine how data and information from various areas such as IT Infrastructure Management or Application Performance Management ITOA are increasingly using "big data" methods to enable a completely new IT Management approach that he calls IT Management 2.0.

The full agenda and registration can be found here.

"amasol is focused on linking ITOA with modern APM solutions to provide new levels of insight into business service performance that serves as the foundation for a variety of operations efficiency improvements," said Frank Jahn, board member sales of amasol AG. "With Netuitive's industry leading IT analytics, we believe the solution for Amadeus is one of the most innovative in the industry and we are proud to have it presented by Amadeus at amasol's Customer Day 2014."

"Like analytics for Big Data and business intelligence, advanced IT analytics are now gaining traction globally," said Nicola Sanna, CEO of Netuitive. "We are pleased to partner with amasol on a groundbreaking ITOA solution for Amadeus, and we continue to deliver new ITOA solutions specific to the monitoring and performance challenges in other industries such as financial services, insurance, and telecommunications."

Why does developer experience matters, what makes for a great developer experience and what is the relationship between developer experience and the broader field of user experience? Software developers are gaining more influence over the purchase decisions of technologies with which they must build on and with which they must integrate. Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...
The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...

Gartner predicts that the bulk of new IT spending by 2016 will be for cloud platforms and applications and that nearly half of large enterprises will have cloud deployments by the end of 2017. The benefits of the cloud may be clear for applications that can tolerate brief periods of downtime, but for critical applications like SQL Server, Oracle and SAP, companies need a strategy for HA and DR protection. While traditional SAN-based clusters are not possible in these environments, SANless cluste...
In a recent research, analyst firm IDC found that the average cost of a critical application failure is $500,000 to $1 million per hour and the average total cost of unplanned application downtime is $1.25 billion to $2.5 billion per year for Fortune 1000 companies. In addition to the findings on the cost of the downtime, the research also highlighted best practices for development, testing, application support, infrastructure, and operations teams.

The OpenStack cloud operating system includes Trove, a database abstraction layer. Rather than applications connecting directly to a specific type of database, they connect to Trove, which in turn connects to one or more specific databases. One target database is Postgres Plus Cloud Database, which includes its own RESTful API. Trove was originally developed around MySQL, whose interfaces are significantly less complicated than those of the Postgres cloud database. In his session at 16th Cloud...
