Dexter + Chaney, providers of Spectrum® Construction Software for the construction industry, unveiled a number of new mobile applications at its 18th annual Connect 2014 Users’ Conference held last week at the Fairmont Olympic and W Hotels in downtown Seattle. The applications streamline communication and increase productivity in the construction office and on the job site.
Dexter + Chaney demonstrated its new mobile apps developed for tablets and smart phone use. Features of these apps include management of job site labor hours, access and sharing of the latest versions of plans and documents, and tracking of equipment deployment, usage, maintenance, and fuel consumption. Additionally, the company highlighted a number of new dashboard apps that work within Spectrum and are available to everyone at a company regardless of the number of Spectrum licenses in use.
“We are very excited to be able to deliver these new applications to the construction industry and further support an increasingly mobile workforce,” said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney’s co-founder and CEO. “We have used extensive customer feedback to help us create simple, easy-to-use tools that enable instant accessibility to construction data no matter what device they’re using, from desktop computer to smart phone.”
Marketing Director Wayne Newitts added that the new mobile apps are all designed to work seamlessly with Spectrum. “Integration with Spectrum is built into every mobile solution, from our apps for Apple and Android devices to the in-product apps for our dashboard. This means no loss of data or duplicate entry, and it means not having to create custom integration with third party products. The result is streamlined workflow, greater access to information, and improved communication and coordination between the office and the job site,” Newitts said.
The Connect 2014 Users’ Conference brought together more than 400 Spectrum customers, industry partners and experts for three days of learning and networking functions, including an evening of entertainment at the world-renowned Seattle Aquarium. Eight unique tracks featuring 56 different courses were available for attendees, covering the latest industry trends and best practices as well as detailed sessions on software functionality. Keynote speeches included a presentation from Lt. Col. Rob “Waldo” Waldman — a combat decorated F-16 pilot and award-winning speaker — and John Chaney, who closed the conference with a glimpse of some of the future technology developments in the works at Dexter + Chaney.
