Bank Technology Veteran Kathryn Hinderhofer Joins The Micronotes Board

Micronotes announced today that Kathryn M. Hinderhofer, former Executive Vice President of National Bank Holding Corporation and Citizens Bank, has joined the Micronotes board of directors. Micronotes is committed to radically improving the productivity of cross-selling for financial institutions as banking customers migrate to the digital channels.

Ms. Hinderhofer has spent over thirty years in the financial services industry, joining National Bank Holdings Corp as Executive Vice President and Director of Integration, Technology and Operations in 2009. NBH is a national bank holding company created for the purpose of buying banks in the US with its $1.2 billion capital raise in 2009. NBH Bank is now a $6.0 billion national bank, headquartered in Greenwood Village, CO., after having gone public in September 2012. Ms. Hinderhofer completed the integration work associated with integrating all four acquired institutions onto a new common operating platform based in Kansas City, MO. Ms. Hinderhofer was responsible for all operations and technology at NBH.

As of January 2014, Ms. Hinderhofer retired and transitioned to a consulting role with NBH to work on future NHB acquisitions.

“I’ve spent most of my working life evaluating and leveraging technologies to improve bank operations and drive value,” said Ms. Hinderhofer. “The Micronotes cross-sell platform is simple to install and use, and enables banks to upload in-branch sales interviews to the digital banking channels to deepen customer relationships and drive sales -- an imperative for banks to remain competitive in an increasingly digital world.” concluded Ms. Hinderhofer.

Ms. Hinderhofer sits on the Board of Trustees at Newton Country Day School, Newton, MA and chairs their Trustee Nominating Committee. She is an overseer at Newton Wellesley Hospital, is a founding member of the Council for Women of Boston College, and has lectured at the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. She holds a BA in Economics from Boston College (Newton College of the Sacred Heart) and an MBA from Suffolk University.

Financial institutions typically own less than 30% of their customers’ financial products portfolio and yet, as bundled services from telecom companies and online retailers demonstrate – customers are willing to place more of their business with existing providers if properly engaged. Micronotes Cross-Sell couples big-data analytics with three-question interviews to listen, advise, and deliver personalized offers to customers on everything from credit cards to mortgages and insurance.

“Kathy is our customer in the boardroom,” remarked Devon Kinkead, CEO of Micronotes. “She brings extensive knowledge of how bank operations and technology unite to create value, which is central to our mission at Micronotes” said Kinkead.
