PatientPoint® to Provide Digital Check-in Technology Through athenahealth Marketplace

PatientPoint®, a provider of patient engagement and care coordination solutions, today announced a partnership with athenahealth as part of athenahealth’s More Disruption Please (MDP) program. Together, the companies will link athenahealth’s growing network of more than 52,000 health care providers with PatientPoint’s services as a preferred digital check-in solution. This partnership will offer athenahealth clients best-in-class digital check-in technology to streamline registration and collections processes, enhance the patient experience, and drive net new practice revenues.

While electronic claim submission and electronic remittance payment posting have helped providers better manage the revenue cycle, capturing accurate patient registration and billing information continues to strain practice operations. PatientPoint’s digital check-in technology increases collections and facilitates a higher clean claim rate by capturing patient-reported data—saving staff hours of follow-up with payers and patients. The self-service tablet enables patients to expedite the time-intensive check-in and registration process by automating the capture of their demographic and intake data as well as consent for signature forms and payment collection. PatientPoint’s digital check-in also supports medication management, and dynamically renders preventive health screenings and assessments, helping to streamline the clinical workflow and create more informed interventions at the point of care.
