TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/14 -- Canada's leading sports business, education and marketing professionals will honour the next generation of leaders in the sports industry at the third annual 5 to Watch - Canada's Sport Business Awards on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at George Brown College's Waterfront Campus, 51 Dockside Drive.
The 5 to Watch awards, presented by George Brown College in partnership with the Globe and Mail, will name the five most influential and accomplished Canadians under the age of 40 in the sports business and marketing sectors. Launched to benefit current and future students, the awards will help raise funds for student bursaries in the Centre for Business at George Brown College.
TSN sportscaster Kate Beirness will host the event. The evening features a stellar lineup of speakers including:
-- Susan Cohig - a highly respected business leader and the NHL's Senior Vice President, Business Affairs & Integrated Marketing -- Heather Moyse - a dual national sport athlete in bobsleigh and rugby and a two-time Olympic gold medalist -- Peter Montopoli - a business trailblazer and the General Secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association and CEO of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 -- Michael Landsberg - a sports journalist and host of TSN's Off the Record -- Tyler Ennis - a highly ranked Canadian point guard and a 2014 NBA draft prospect
