Non-Invasive Rhinoplasty Trend Takes Hold in NY

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/14 -- New Yorkers who want to change the appearance of their nose now have more options than ever. Nose jobs aren't confined to a surgical suite anymore. Now, new rhinoplasty techniques are allowing New Yorkers to see immediate results from a brief office visit. In recent months, plastic surgery expert Dr. Ramtin Kassir, M.D., F.A.C.S., has seen a drastic increase in the number of non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures he performs.

Unlike surgical nose jobs, non-invasive rhinoplasty doesn't involve heavy sedition or lengthy downtime. Instead, this popular cosmetic surgery trend makes use of temporary fillers like Restylane, Perlane, and Radiesse.

"With these fillers, I am able to bring noticeable improvements to the nose," says Dr. Kassir. "Non-surgical rhinoplasty isn't able to shrink the size of the nose, but it can camouflage bumps, create a better looking bridge, and change the angles of the nose. Those things can improve the symmetry of the face and make the nose appear smaller."

After prepping the client with a topical anesthesia, Dr. Kassir uses the fillers in a series of small injections to the nose. He is then able to mold the filler and provide an ideal shape for the nose. The entire process takes less than an hour and there is no recovery time needed. Clients don't have any bruising and can go back to their regular activities right away.

Dr. Kassir acknowledges that non-surgical nose jobs cannot correct anatomical problems with the nose, such a breathing trouble or previous fractures. Still, many rhinoplasty candidates are choosing this route rather than undergoing a surgical procedure.

"For many of my clients, non-invasive rhinoplasty offers exactly what they want," says the doctor. Recently Sonja Morgan from the Real Housewives of New York visited Dr. Kassir for this extremely convenient procedure. "They don't have to be scared about going under anesthesia or being cut during a surgery. They don't have to fear a long or painful recovery. And, for up to a year after the procedure, they are able to see the results they want."

What if, during a snow emergency, an on-the-ground sensor could automatically trigger a relevant emergency notification related to snowfall and road impact. And then, after it’s triggered, that notification is delivered intelligently to individuals based on an extensive set of rules designed to alert the most available and capable responders. This “what if” question about “smart highways” is short-sighted. We are already there, and we are only getting started. While mainstream attention is pai...
