FT. LAUDERDALE, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 05/02/14 -- An airport runway turned into a fashion runway when Zac Posen introduced his new Fall 2014 line to an expectant audience at Signature Flight Support in Boca Raton, Florida last month. The prestigious fashion show was part of a fundraiser organized by SHUZZ with the goal to raise more than $250,000 to support the organization's relief efforts to supply children in need across the United States and in developing countries with shoes. The event's more than one thousand guests were excited to not only see the newest trends by famous designer Zac Posen, but to also meet the fashion maven himself who attended the event to personally present his collection and show his support for the cause.
The event was organized by the SHUZZ fund, a Florida-based non-profit organization founded in 2011 by Rita Johnson-Lombardo. SHUZZ' mission is to help children in poor regions around the world, regardless of the kids' race, religion, or class. Their goal is to bring shoes to 10 million children affected by poverty over the next 10 years. Since 2011, SHUZZ with the help of volunteers has delivered thousands of shoes throughout the United States and to Japan, Haiti, Nepal, Guatemala and Jamaica. The organization funds itself through public donations from corporations as well as from individual sponsors. Among the many prominent guests in attendance and supporters of the noble cause was the Florida-based entrepreneur and CEO of City Power Marketing, Steve Tsingas, joined by his wife Lauren.
Lauren and Steve Tsingas, along with the other attendees, were welcomed with a red carpet leading to a cocktail reception, followed by the extravagant fashion show. Afterwards the couple was excited to participate in the live auction as well as the silent auctions that were being held, knowing that 100% of the proceeds will go to help provide shoes to children in need. For Steve this fundraising event was especially close to his heart, since he knows firsthand what it is like to endure financial hardships as a kid. Being an immigrant from a small mountain village in central Greece, Steve spent his teens in an underprivileged neighborhood in Norristown, PA, where his mother worked in a sweatshop as a seamstress, while his father was a janitor. Hard work and family support brought Steve to where he is today, so he was thrilled to take part in the glamorous charity event, which aims at helping kids and improves their lives.
Steve Tsingas has become a pioneer in the power trading business. Despite coming from a rather underprivileged background, he completed college by taking on a number of jobs in various industries and graduated from Widener University in Chester, PA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a Professional Engineer license and an MBA from the University of Maryland. After working as field engineer for NETZSCH Inc. and as a field engineer for Atlantic City Electric Company in New Jersey, Steve founded his own company, City Power Marketing LLC, in 2005. Through his experience, drive and knack for profitability, Steve ensured that the company was prosperous from day one, ultimately making more than 40 million dollars almost single-handedly. Thanks to Steve's motto to "work smarter, not harder", his business continues to thrive and flourish everyday.
