GRV Shoes Sponsors James Brown Charity Event and Advises World to "Just Groove" on James Brown's Birthday

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/02/14 -- Emerging sneaker brand, the Groove Revolution (GRV) proudly announced today that GRV will be co-sponsoring the James Brown "Get On The Good Foot" charity walk in Augusta, Georgia this Saturday May 3rd; James Brown's birthday. The event benefits the James Brown Academy of Music Pupils (J.A.M.P.), which provides music education to youth to enrich their lives. Beyond being an overall event co-sponsor, GRV is also sponsoring the event's "Play It Loud" contest for youth music groups ages 10-18.

GRV founder Rob Corbett said, "Learning to play instruments as a troubled young man saved me from a bad path in life, so the Groove Revolution began as a mission to inspire more young people to start jamming on instruments to uplift their souls through hard times. But then my research led me to invent GRV shoes -- the world's first sneakers with natural leather soles that let you slide around like James Brown, the King of Groove. So we are deeply honored to help the James Brown Academy of Music Pupils because it ties together our core passions -- jamming and James Brown. We hope everyone in the area will come 'Get On The Good Foot' with us this Saturday and just groove!"

Before inventing GRV shoes, Corbett was like most guys today; he never danced. Then one night at Tipitina's in New Orleans, the floor was wet and his Puma sneakers started grooving around like never before. At that moment he realized that he had felt this feeling before... at weddings, which is the only time guys today ever wear leather soles and as a result, the only time most guys today ever dance. So Rob searched for cool, comfortable shoes with leather soles, but they didn't exist; so he started making GRV shoes to unlock his natural groove and as Rob says, "Free your soul from rubber souls."
