FORTRUST Announces Contract With Account Control Technology, Inc.

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/06/14 -- FORTRUST, the Rocky Mountain Region's most progressive data center and colocation services provider, announced today that they have been awarded a contract by Account Control Technology, Inc. (ACT), one of the nation's leading debt management and collection agencies.

FORTRUST will provide ACT with data module space delivered out of their Denver data center. FORTRUST's data modules provide customers with higher efficiencies and are scalable as their businesses grow. ACT chose FORTRUST's Denver location because it is ideally situated between their three offices in California, Texas and Ohio. ACT initially looked into building out their IT environment in California where their corporate headquarters are located but found it to be too expensive to do so. FORTRUST's Denver location provides a less expensive and more robust solution while remaining central to the carrier network between all of ACT's corporate locations.

ACT Chief Information Officer, Sameer Maini, states, "FORTRUST has been instrumental in streamlining our IT environments between locations and proved to be more cost effective than other providers we looked at. They architected our environment based on actual power usage and were able to build an honest and effective solution that will scale with ACT as we grow."

Senior Vice President of Sales, David Shepard, added, "ACT is a prime example of a customer with scalability requirements that we were able to meet easily via our data modules. This solution will provide them with higher efficiencies which will in turn provide significant cost savings for their company. We are pleased to have ACT onboard here at FORTRUST and look forward to building a long standing relationship with them into the future."

The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. With many IoT elements rooted in traditional IT components, Big Data and IoT isn’t just a play for enterprise. In fact, the IoT presents SMBs with the prospect of launching entirely new activities and exploring innovative areas. Wearable devices have come of age. The primary applications of wearables so far have been "the Quantified Self" or the tracking of one's fitness and health status. We propose the evolution of wearables into social and emotional communication devices. Our BE(tm) sensor uses light to visualize the skin conductance response. Our sensors are very inexpensive and can be massively distributed to audiences or groups of any size, in order to gauge reactions to performances, video, or any kind of present...

Some developers believe that monitoring is a function of the operations team. Some operations teams firmly believe that monitoring the systems they maintain is sufficient to run the business successfully. Most of them are wrong. The complexity of today's applications have gone far and beyond the capabilities of "traditional" system-level monitoring tools and approaches and requires much broader knowledge of business and applications as a whole. The goal of DevOps is to connect all aspects of app...

Analysts provide recommendations to security professionals using bingo-laden terms like "moving security to the left" or "get a seat at the table." What we need are real-world examples and tactics for security practitioners to be part of DevOps. In his session at DevOps Summit, Andrew...
