Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/955p8w/global_satellite) has announced the addition of the "Global Satellite Transponder Market" report to their offering.
The satellite transponder market is composed of communication modules that are equipped on satellites orbiting Earth. X-band, C-band, S-band, L-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band are commonly in use for satellite communications. Satellite transponders are used for a number of applications, including voice, data, video streaming, machine to machine (M2M), and government/military applications.
The number of satellite transponders produced in a particular year directly correlates with the number of satellite launches per year and the average number of transponders equipped on each satellite. While the number of satellite launches will not experience a significant increase from previous years (most are a result of upgrading/replacing existing satellites), the number of transponders will increase as the average number of transponders per satellite increases significantly over the years.
Transponders used for Ka-band are expected to experience the highest level of overall growth, particularly because most transponders used for other bands are replacements and not new growth.
This study covers the satellite transponder market, also known as the fixed satellite services market, operating in 3 frequency bands: C, Ku, and Ka. Transponders are measured by number of transponders, revenue, and average price. Ka-band is currently at the forefront of market growth, with Ku- and C-band offering the widest coverage/install base and subsequently the most congestion. In this study, 6 major global regions are analyzed.

As cloud gives an opportunity to businesses to buy services externally – how is cloud impacting your customers? In his General Session at 15th Cloud Expo, Fabio Gori, Director of Worldwide Cloud Marketing at Cisco, provided answers to big questions: Do you see hybrid cloud as where the world is going? What benefits does it bring? And how does Cisco connect all of these clouds? He also discussed Intercloud and Cisco’s investment on it.
