Solve Media Unveils Gestural Advertising Product; Touch-Optimized Brand Engagements Now Delivered to Global Smartphone and Tablet Users

Solve Media, the leader in Secure Media for online branding at scale, today unveiled its gestural advertising technology, enabling brands to capitalize on the interactive opportunity presented by touchscreen devices. Through gestural engagements, such as the double-tap, swipe, and drag-and-drop, it is now more efficient than ever for brands to validate that users are, in fact, human. In addition, by giving users a new, cognitive way to interact with advertisements, brands are seeing significant lift in purchase intent, awareness and favorability. Staying true to Solve Media’s mission to offer simple solutions to complex problems, gestural TYPE-IN ads provide a better user experience while continuing to deliver security that cannot be gamed by non-human, bot traffic.

In late 2013, Microsoft launched the first campaign to utilize the gestural technology in Europe. The goals of the campaign were to increase awareness for the Nokia Lumia 1020 phone and differentiate it through its camera capabilities, particularly the zoom feature. The campaign resulted in a staggering 93% lift in awareness vs. control, more than 22 times greater than comScore norms for awareness campaigns.

“We were very impressed with Solve Media’s new gestural technology and are excited to be the first to utilize it in Europe,” said Tara Powadiuk, EMEA Media Group Manager, Microsoft. “The gestural technology was a great way to show the ‘zoom’ feature in an engaging way, one of the great selling points of the phone. In addition, we were able to achieve an amazing lift in awareness in multiple countries over a short period of time, all while being sure that we paid only for human performance.”

Solve Media’s gestural advertising technology provides:

  • User-Driven Experience: Consumers can choose how they prefer to engage, either through a touch-based gesture or typing in a brand message.
  • Favorable Brand Awareness: With a better user experience, consumers interact with brands positively, building brand favorability as well as awareness and recall.
  • Secure Media Investment: Like traditional TYPE-IN ads, gestures can only be completed by humans, which leads to 0% wasted ad spend.
  • Guaranteed Campaign Effectiveness: Gestural TYPE-IN ads are optimized for touch, utilizing a wholly attentive audience to increase campaign measurement accuracy and effectiveness.

“With our gestural product, Solve Media offers a new way for brands to effectively engage consumers. We’ve improved user experience by providing people with a choice in how they experience a brand,” said Ari Jacoby, CEO of Solve Media. “The results of our initial campaign with Microsoft have exceeded brand lift expectations. TYPE-IN ads have been optimized for mobile devices, without compromising security, and continue to provide a secure media investment with zero waste, guaranteed.”
