Pennsylvania Major Metro Regions Experience Year-Over-Year Decrease of (-11.48%) in Commercial Construction Activity, BidClerk 1st Quarter 2014 Data Shows

For the Pennsylvania major metro regions, 1st quarter 2014 BidClerk data showed a year-over-year decrease of (-11.48%) for new actively bid commercial construction projects, compared to a 23.63% increased in activity for the same period last year.

Total contract value for the Pennsylvania major metro regions surveyed topped out at $3.5 billion in the 1st quarter of 2014, with an average contract value of $2.5 million.

For the Philadelphia MSA region, 1st quarter 2014 BidClerk data showed a year-over-year decrease of (-14.94%) for new actively bidding construction projects, compared to a 19.34% increase in activity for the same period last year. The total value of construction activity in the Philadelphia MSA region for the 1st quarter 2014 was $1.5 billion.
