Burnham Benefits Acquires Larger Office Space in Downtown Los Angeles

IRVINE, CA and LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/07/14 -- Burnham Benefits Insurance Services Inc., one of California's most successful employee benefits brokerage firms, has outgrown its current Los Angeles office space -- originally opened in 2010 -- and is upgrading to a larger location in downtown LA. The new space is more than double the size of Burnham's former location, and indicates the firm's commitment to building its business in the area, where it has identified tremendous growth potential for the company and the community.

"We're excited to have found a location that fits the needs of our growing company," says Burnham Benefits CEO and owner, Kristen Allison. "We believe in the viability of this community and are making a sound investment in its future, and ours, by establishing a larger presence here."

Company Growth
Burnham Benefits plans to hire as many as 10 additional employees for the new, larger LA location throughout 2014. It plans to extend the company's unique business model of specializing exclusively in strategic employee benefits consulting and brokerage services to even more Los Angeles clients. This includes focusing on significant local market segments including the public sector, national clients headquartered in LA and mid-market private sector clients based in the region.

The Los Angeles office expansion is a strategic move that will further Burnham's already successful growth rate. Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., the firm has grown 20 percent year-over-year for the last 10 years, and announced in March that it will be establishing a new office in Sacramento. Burnham has a strong presence throughout California, with a footprint in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.

"With so much going on in the market right now, including new laws and regulations, employers are looking for a partner to stand by their side and walk them through these changes," says Allison. "We're willing to commit the resources needed to help employers understand the changes taking place and how they affect their companies -- also identifying highly customized solutions that work for their businesses."

Burnham's new space is located at 724 S. Spring Street, Suite 1104, Los Angeles, Calif. 90015.

How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...

What do a firewall and a fortress have in common? They are no longer strong enough to protect the valuables housed inside. Like the walls of an old fortress, the cracks in the firewall are allowing the bad guys to slip in - unannounced and unnoticed. By the time these thieves get in, the damage is already done and the network is already compromised. Intellectual property is easily slipped out the back door leaving no trace of forced entry. If we want to reign in on these cybercriminals, it's hig...
