STERLING, IL--(Marketwired - May 08, 2014) - Arguably the most important, and rewarding, job in America also comes with more than its fair share of physical pain. With the average mom spending just under 40 hours each week transporting children, carrying them around, cooking for them, cleaning up after them and running household errands, motherhood is full-time job. And as a result, moms bear more pain than the general population and are more likely to experience weekly pain in the core areas of back, neck and shoulders, according to research conducted by Harris Interactive and Wahl.
To help moms in pain, Wahl, the inventor of the electric massager, is offering relief every day in the month of May with its Massager a Day Giveaway. Moms, and those looking to give a mom some relief, are invited to visit the new Wahl Wellness Facebook Page and click on the sweepstakes app for a chance to win the latest in hand-held therapeutic massage. Wahl will be conducting a random drawing each day to award winners one of Wahl's new therapeutic at-home massagers: the ultra-powerful Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massager, the total comfort All-Body Massager or the Hot/Cold Massage Gel Pack, a first-of-its-kind pain management solution that combines three treatments into one.
"As a mom, I appreciate just how much goes into raising children, day in and day out," said Jenny McLaughlin, product manager for Wahl's massager division. "That's why I'm excited to celebrate all that moms do while offering them the much-needed relief they deserve."

About the Studies
In 2013, Wahl and Harris Interactive asked 1,000 people, including 300 moms with children under 18, to share their pain. The verdict: Moms bear more pain than the general population. In total, 84 percent of moms experienced muscle or joint pain with seven out of 10 experiencing it in three or more places. Moms not only had more aches, but they were 25 percent more likely to experience it on a weekly basis, at least in the core areas of back, neck and shoulders.
In a separate study, Wahl investigated the physical demands moms endure. The survey among 500-plus moms revealed that raising a child is a full time job with the average mom spending just under 40 hours each week transporting children, carrying them around, cooking for them, cleaning up after them and running household errands.

Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...

The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...

The major cloud platforms defy a simple, side-by-side analysis. Each of the major IaaS public-cloud platforms offers their own unique strengths and functionality. Options for on-site private cloud are diverse as well, and must be designed and deployed while taking existing legacy architecture and infrastructure into account. Then the reality is that most enterprises are embarking on a hybrid cloud strategy and programs. In this Power Panel at 15th Cloud Expo (http://www.CloudComputingExpo.com...

The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...
