C. C. Young Chairman of the Board Honored as 2013 Citizen of the Year

Richardson Chamber of Commerce Honors Clayton Oliphint

DALLAS, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/14 -- The Richardson Chamber of Commerce hosted its 57th Annual Meeting on Monday, April 7, 2014. C. C. Young Chairman of the Board and senior pastor at First United Methodist Church Richardson, Clayton Oliphint, was honored as the 2013 Citizen of the Year.

Dr. Oliphint has served as senior pastor at First United Methodist Church, Richardson, since 2001. He began his ministry as a pastor of a three church circuit in Kansas in 1983. From 1986 to 1990 he served as an associate minister at Lovers Lane UMC, in Dallas. In 1990 he was appointed to First UMC in The Colony, leading that church through two building programs. In 1996 he was appointed to First UMC, Duncanville where he serves until being appointed to Richardson in November of 2001.

Dr. Oliphint has served as a member of the Board of Directors of C. C. Young since 2004 and was elected Chairman of the Board in 2012. He and his wife, Lori, are the parents of three "preachers kids," Erin and Katy, both students at TCU and Grant, a high school freshman.
