Timesheets.com, a leader in workforce management software, added facial detection capabilities to its Photo Timestamp feature.
Photo Timestamp is a unique feature among online time tracking services, which allows employers the ability to see exactly who is clocking in from any remote location. This is especially useful for organizations that don’t have a manager present at the location where employees punch the clock. The technology thwarts a practice called buddy punching, wherein employees clock in for other absent or tardy employees. Employees do this so that they are not marked tardy and so that they continue to be paid even when they are not present. Requiring a picture to be taken along with the clock punch ensures that employees only clock in for themselves.
The engineers at Timesheets.com have just improved upon this feature by adding technology that scans the images for faces. Any image that does not contain a detected face is automatically tagged for alert. At this time, the supervisor will be notified through the software’s notification system.
“We are really excited about this improvement,” said Joel Slatis, President and CEO of Timesheets.com. “Customers have been asking us for facial detection capabilities to complement our Photo Timestamp feature and we are pleased to be able to oblige.”
The feature is in the testing phase and will be available to the public mid-summer, 2014. Anyone that is interested in a demonstration is encouraged to contact the company’s customer service team.
