Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ), a global provider of software and services designed to improve the customer experience, has been named one of Indiana’s 2014 Best Places to Work.
Interactive Intelligence was ranked sixth among 18 winners in the major companies’ category, which includes firms with 1,000-plus employees. The Interactive Intelligence ranking is an improvement over last year’s ranking of 10th.
In addition, this year Interactive Intelligence was named a Hall of Fame winner, which signifies companies that have been named a Best Place to Work in Indiana at least two-thirds of the time since the program began in 2005. This is the eighth consecutive year Interactive Intelligence has been included in the ranking, which is coordinated by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Companies nominated for the ranking were evaluated based on workplace policies, practices and demographics. Companies were also qualified based on employee survey responses that measured employee experience.
“This ranking affirms the priority we place on our employees,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO Dr. Donald E. Brown. “I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every team member who, by virtue of their hard work, loyalty and passion, has helped make Interactive such a great place to work.”
Dr. Brown founded Interactive Intelligence in 1994 and has since grown it into a publicly traded, global company generating $318 million in annual revenues and employing more than 1,900 people worldwide.
Of its 1,900-plus global employees, more than 1,000 are based in Indiana. The company plans to add more than 300 jobs in Indiana by the end of 2014.
Interactive Intelligence also plans to add a new 112,000 square-foot building at its North-side Indianapolis location, which now includes four buildings spanning approximately 300,000 square feet.
The company’s current facilities boast an award-winning modern design, fitness center, game room and café.
In addition to standard benefits, Interactive Intelligence offers paternity leave, an onsite health care clinic, exercise classes, discounted onsite massage sessions, an at-home PC purchase plan, casual dress code, and leadership development programs. The company also offers volunteer opportunities for employees through its charitable Interactive Intelligence Foundation.
This year’s Best Places to Work in Indiana winners were recognized by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce during an awards dinner held May 1 at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.
