Andy Daga, CEO and Chairman of Momentum said, “We are extremely fortunate to have John join as an integral member of our company. He has been a leading proponent of this crucially important technology and brings an unparalleled understanding of both the technology and policy issues necessary to international commercialization.”
Prior to his tenure with ORNL, Dr. Miller was a member of the technical staff at Texas Instruments and later a research engineer and technical leader at the Ford Motor Company where he worked on electric and hybrid vehicle programs. Dr. Miller is an Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University and Texas A&M University. Dr. Miller was past Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Power Electronics Society Newsletter, Chairman of the Education and Outreach Committee of KiloFarad International, and he served as IEEE Power Electronics Society and Industry Applications Society distinguished lecturer. He has authored or co-authored six books, more than 180 publications on automotive electrical and electronic systems, and holds 54 U.S. patents. Dr. Miller is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the recipient of the Henry Ford Technology Award and IEEE’s Kliman Innovator Award. He is a registered professional engineer in Michigan and Texas. Along with his work with Momentum Dynamics, Dr. Miller will continue as a consultant to a leading energy storage company.
“I have had the good fortune to be involved with a rapidly developing technology such as wireless charging, and have evaluated many different systems within this space. I believe wireless charging is the future, and I also believe Momentum’s technology is the most cost-effective and safest,” said Miller.
Miller joins an advisory board that is chaired by former General Motors executive Tony Posawatz, who was the General Manager of the successful Chevrolet Volt program as well as the former CEO at Fisker Automotive. Daga continued: “Momentum’s Advisory Board has extraordinary intellectual bandwidth, including accomplished leaders with expertise that spans multiple disciplines – the automotive industry, high power inductive power, advanced battery technology, bioelectricity, industrial productivity, and government policy. It’s amazing to watch what happens when they interact.”
