Alfalight Receives $49M IDIQ Contract for Delivery of Ocular Interruption Laser System to US Marine Corps

Rugged Eye-Safe Green Laser to Enhance Non-Lethal Capability

MADISON, WI -- (Marketwired) -- 05/29/14 -- Alfalight, Inc., a leading developer of high-performance infrared and visible laser systems for defense and security applications, announced it has received an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the United States Marine Corps System Command. The contract has a maximum value of $49 million over a period of 5 years.

Under the terms of the contract, Alfalight will deliver their NLOD-ES (Non-Lethal Ocular Disruptor with Enhanced Safety) to MARCORSYSCOM in Quantico, Virginia, later this year. The NLOD-ES is a rugged, compact green laser for hailing and warning that employs automated, integrated controls to ensure eye-safe operation. The NLOD-ES shares technology used in a contract for a long-range ocular disruption system to be delivered to United States Naval Surface Warfare Center, which Alfalight announced in January.

"This significant award builds on Alfalight's many years of success in high-performance laser systems for the U.S. government," said Mohan Warrior, President and Chief Executive Officer. "It further validates our strategic focus on designing and manufacturing rugged, integrated laser systems for the defense and security markets. We look forward to supporting the Marines to expand their non-lethal capability set."
