As founder and CEO of TheraSim, the leading simulation solution for physician and HCP education, Hadden has turned his expertise to this new web software training venture focused on patient education.
With more than a decade working on virtual simulation, Hadden’s experience in artificial intelligence, clinical decision support and adult learning bring a new perspective to the challenge of moving patient self-advocacy forward. “TheraSim brought simulation training to more than 150,000 physicians in 190 countries. The outcomes were astonishing and I look forward to bringing that value to patients,” Hadden said.
He cited research that shows patients on average ask only five questions of their doctors and these often include questions such as “Where is the bathroom?” and “Do you validate parking?”
“It takes know-how to be an effective patient,” Hadden said. “There is no way you can understand something as complicated as your health in only five questions.”
Schaberick was motivated by personal experience to join Hadden as co-founder and co-executive in ProPatient after 20 years of experience in learning technology with WebMD, TheraSim and Sun Microsystems.
“Ten years ago I lost my father to pancreatic cancer. Although I worked in medical education, I was overwhelmed and underprepared to take on the caregiver role. I searched everywhere for information and tools to help. Since I was creating programs to educate physicians, I was sure there had to be good resources out there for me and my family. What I found was sorely lacking. That, for me, was the first step in recognizing the need.”
