Today, the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, will be attending CANSEC 2014, Canada's premier defence trade show. Organized and hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), CANSEC attracts a wide audience, including government agencies and departments with an interest in the defence and security sectors, and showcases Canadian defence companies' products, services and technologies.
Minister Rempel will be touring the trade show floor of CANSEC 2014, meeting with western Canadian companies and contractors at the event.
The two-day trade show is an opportunity for Canadian and international companies to network with representatives from industry and government. This year's exhibition will once again feature the Business Development Program, which allows businesses and government representatives to connect with one another to build relationships and to develop new procurement and export opportunities.
-- More than 15 foreign military delegations are expected to attend CANSEC 2014, including visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Central and South America, Asia and the Middle East. -- Exhibitors at this year's event include a broad cross-section of international, Canadian and Western Canadian defence and security companies. -- Federal participants include: the Department of National Defence, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, and Public Works and Government Services Canada.
