As enterprises look to take advantage of the cloud, they need to understand the importance of safeguarding their confidential and sensitive data in cloud environments. Enterprises must protect their data from (1) system administrators who don't need to see the data in the clear and (2) adversaries who become system administrators from stolen credentials. In short, enterprises must take control of their data: The best way to do this is by using advanced encryption, centralized key management and cutting edge access controls and policies.
When an outside party owns, controls, and manages infrastructure and computational resources, how can you be assured that sensitive data remains private and secure, that your organization is protected from damaging data breaches, and that you can still satisfy the full range of reporting, compliance and regulatory requirements?
In his session at 14th Cloud Expo, C.J. Radford, Vice President of Cloud at Vormetric, will discuss how to proactively address security in the cloud so that your organization isn't next week's data breach headline, protect intellectual property and comply with data privacy and system integrity regulations and how to combine context-aware user access, high performance encryption for data-at-rest and operational control into a single system that seamlessly interacts with existing IT systems.
C.J. Radford (@cjrad) joined Vormetric in March 2013 as vice president of cloud and is responsible for leading the company's cloud strategy and growth via strategic partnerships with cloud service providers (CSPs).
Radford understands that the economics and business flexibility of cloud are a driving force that is changing the way organizations compete and deliver IT services. He came to Vormetric from Symantec Corporation, where he spent more than five years driving business development and new strategic growth initiatives within the rapidly evolving CSP market and served as their business development director and head of the cloud and IT services team for the company's global business development and alliances group. Radford also brings to Vormetric extensive expertise in the private equity and corporate finance industries, having served in leadership roles at Parallel Investment Partners, West Lake Partners, J.H.
