Moments ago IBM announced that “Fang” (Friendly Anthropomorphic Networked Genome) from Majestyk has been named one of three worldwide winners of the IBM Watson Mobile Developers Challenge. The announcement was made at the General Session of IBM Innovate in Orlando. Fang was selected from hundreds of submissions based on its ability to tap into the powerful cognitive computing capabilities of Watson.
No longer a futurist’s fantasy, Fang is an artificially intelligent, cuddly plush companion for children capable of interacting and reasoning with kids in natural language, and adapting over time to uncover exploratory, immersive learning pathways. The lovable toy will be paired with a tablet for a multisensory educational experience integrated with custom, Fang-enabled mobile apps.
|WHAT:||Donald Coolidge (CEO) and Damion Hänkejh (CTO, Smithsonian Laureate) will be available for comment to members of the media regarding Fang and their experience in the Challenge.|
|WHERE:||Onsite at the opening General Session and throughout the day at IBM Innovate, Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Orlando; or via telephone or Skype for those not in attendance.|
|WHEN:||Tuesday, June 3 through Thursday, June 5.|
