Dante Announces Allegory for Salesforce

Dante, the software company that provides the Allegory® platform, announced the introduction of its new Allegory® for Salesforce product. Allegory® for Salesforce lets users leverage the sales and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities of Salesforce with the powerful, flexible Allegory® platform for a complete offer-to-cash solution. Allegory® for Salesforce includes offer targeting by market segment and contractual agreements, Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ), and order management out of the box, a self-service storefront, and a platform accessible through mobile, desktop, and tablets.

"Salesforce.com is a great solution for managing the sales process," said Pierre Malko, President and CEO of Dante, "However, we noticed that our clients were spending 9 to 18 months and sometimes more to extend Salesforce.com to support complex pricing scenarios and manage the order fulfillment process." The Allegory® for Salesforce configure-price-quote (CPQ) function supports a variety of pricing structures including:

  • recurring, one time, and usage
  • flat, rate, tier, and threshold
  • customer-targeted pricing

The application supports offer targeting to streamline the product selection for a customer based on their profile or contractual agreements. In addition to CPQ, Allegory® for Salesforce includes end-to-end order management and tracking for full order visibility in Salesforce. "We designed Allegory® for Salesforce to allow a seamless integration between Salesforce.com and the capabilities of Allegory®," said Eric Fremont, Executive Vice President and COO of Dante, "The integration is done through configuration rather than development. As a result, what used to take months or even years can be done in days!"

The application works with the Allegory® Storefront to allow customer self-service access to products and services, and unlike other products, the integration is built in. "Our Allegory® platform is an integrated solution, eliminating the need to purchase and use a number of disparate systems to achieve sales goals," says Vice President Alcione Sturmer. "Allegory® for Salesforce includes all of the components you need -- a product catalog, order management, campaign and inventory management, and customizable business process management."

All of these capabilities are available through desktop, mobile and tablets. "The cross channel customer experience means that a salesperson can close the opportunity in Salesforce, the customer can complete their configuration through the Allegory® Storefront, the order can be processed with Allegory® Orchestration, and a customer service rep can provide support in one integrated solution!" according to Chol Kong, Vice President of Business Development.

Due of the rise of Hadoop, many enterprises are now deploying their first small clusters of 10 to 20 servers. At this small scale, the complexity of operating the cluster looks and feels like general data center servers. It is not until the clusters scale, as they inevitably do, when the pain caused by the exponential complexity becomes apparent. We've seen this problem occur time and time again. In his session at Big Data Expo, Greg Bruno, Vice President of Engineering and co-founder of StackI...
Once the decision has been made to move part or all of a workload to the cloud, a methodology for selecting that workload needs to be established. How do you move to the cloud? What does the discovery, assessment and planning look like? What workloads make sense? Which cloud model makes sense for each workload? What are the considerations for how to select the right cloud model? And how does that fit in with the overall IT transformation?
The recent trends like cloud computing, social, mobile and Internet of Things are forcing enterprises to modernize in order to compete in the competitive globalized markets. However, enterprises are approaching newer technologies with a more silo-ed way, gaining only sub optimal benefits. The Modern Enterprise model is presented as a newer way to think of enterprise IT, which takes a more holistic approach to embracing modern technologies.
For better or worse, DevOps has gone mainstream. All doubt was removed when IBM and HP threw up their respective DevOps microsites. Where are we on the hype cycle? It's hard to say for sure but there's a feeling we're heading for the "Peak of Inflated Expectations." What does this mean for the enterprise? Should they avoid DevOps? Definitely not. Should they be cautious though? Absolutely. The truth is that DevOps and the enterprise are at best strange bedfellows. The movement has its roots in t...
