Storage industry innovator X-IO Technologies has announced it has delivered uninterrupted performance and stable storage of critical data for Pasco-Hernando State College, ensuring consistency in education for over five years.
PHSC stores personal information, work and exam results for its 14,500 students. It therefore needed a storage solution that would ensure the integrity and availability of critical data. Having installed X-IO’s ISE solution over five years ago, PHSC has since benefited from high capacity utilization without any compromise to performance.
Troy Barnet, network security manager, Pasco-Hernando State College, said: “I’m pleased to say I have never had to touch the X-IO ISE units since they were implemented. The solution just works really well and we can easily add to it when we reach capacity which is a huge positive. X-IO’s ISE solution takes care of itself with very little administration time.”
PHSC considered a number of storage options but implemented X-IO’s ISE solution because of its overall ease of use and ‘zero touch’ five-year guarantee. In the past five years, IT management time has been reduced to almost zero.
Blair Parkhill, marketing VP at X-IO, said: “Like many other educational institutions, Pasco-Hernando State College needed a storage solution that was reliable, scalable and easy to manage—as well as being cost-effective. Our ISE solution does exactly that, allowing the college to concentrate on enhancing its IT infrastructure to support the large student population without having to worry about IT management issues on a daily basis.”

“DevOps is really about the business. The business is under pressure today, competitively in the marketplace to respond to the expectations of the customer. The business is driving IT and the problem is that IT isn't responding fast enough," explained Mark Levy, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Serena Software, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at DevOps Summit, held Nov 4–6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
