The Government of Canada has provided support through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to support the 6th edition of the Hills Are Alive Music and Dance Cultural Fest.
LaVar Payne, Member of Parliament (Medicine Hat), today announced funding of $3,700 to the Miywasin Society of Aboriginal Services on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.
The event will feature a variety of cultural workshops including fiddle, guitar, mandolin, hand drumming, and bagpipe, as well as opportunities to learn more about Aboriginal crafts and Metis language. Local artists will also provide nightly musical performances throughout the four-day festival.
