Gwen Aston Appointed to Oversee Implementations and Client Success at Instem Clinical

Instem, a leading provider of IT solutions to the global early development healthcare market, announced today that Gwen Aston has joined Instem Clinical in the role of Vice President, Implementations and Client Relations.

Gwen most recently held the position of Senior Director & General Manager of Clinical Pharmacology at ICON Development Solutions. She brings to Instem a wealth of experience in both clinical pharmacology and clinical research along with a proven eSource system deployment track record, having had significant hands on experience in all the early phase data capture systems available today. Gwen’s experience is built upon a significant history of achievement that will assist Instem in delivering market leading client service and success.

Originally qualified as a registered nurse, Gwen has an unsurpassed level of experience spanning 30 years. This includes having run a number of Phase I sites and clinics for both large pharmaceutical and contract research organizations as well as smaller independent sites. Gwen has additionally managed successful global implementation projects and is well respected throughout commercial industry and within regulatory agencies.

In this role at Instem Clinical, Gwen will be responsible for satisfying strong market demand for ALPHADAS™ by ensuring timely deployments that meet and exceed the expectations of Instem clients around the world. Gwen will work with and lead the growing clinical support team, which includes subject matter experts who have managed Phase I laboratories and recruitment departments prior to joining Instem Clinical. This combination of diverse and extensive hands-on experience is what positions the Instem Clinical Implementation team as a market leading resource, adding significant value to the compelling ROI already offered by ALPHADAS. The Implementation team operates as an extension of Instem clients’ own deployment teams, advising on and helping drive process evolution and improvements while maximizing the return on ALPHADAS deployments.

“Having worked across many sites and functions with a number of systems as a client, and having assessed many others, it was the similarity of vision and determination of Instem Clinical to delight clients with their products and services that drove my decision to join their leadership team,” comments Gwen Aston. “This vision, coupled with the way that ALPHADAS focuses on the needs of end-users, enabling them to deliver quality data to site management and sponsors in real time, meant that coming to Instem was the clear choice for me. I am very excited about the future of Instem and ALPHADAS.”

“Gwen sees the world from our users’ perspective and will be working hand-in-hand with them to ensure that during and following deployment our clients are experiencing immediate returns on their investments,” states Phil Reason, CEO of Instem. “Working closely with our clients, Gwen will also be pivotal in helping us stay focused on our vision of delighting every customer as we continue to develop exciting new capabilities in our product suite.”

Instem’s ALPHADAS software solution suite is a proactive eSource clinical research and early phase trials system that is mobile, schedule-driven, and provides real-time bedside or station-based direct data capture that virtually eliminates paper-based data.
