Vubiquity Selects Mediamorph to Streamline Rights and Avails Management, and BeBanjo to Simplify Title Scheduling

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - June 10, 2014) - Vubiquity, the largest global provider of multiplatform video services, has selected Mediamorph, creators of a revolutionary rights management solution for video service providers and digital retailers, and BeBanjo, a fully-owned subsidiary of Arkena and providers of award winning video-on-demand management software, as component vendors for its AnyVU™ Cloud platform.

Vubiquity's AnyVU Cloud offers a broad set of modular services that include access to a deep library of licensed content, on-demand and linear delivery to set-top boxes and IP connected devices, and direct-to-subscriber streaming, as well as other next-generation video services. Built upon Vubiquity's experience working with content owners, MVPDs and OTT players in 37 countries, the new platform opens up multiplatform video capabilities to any type of service provider.

Mediamorph Connect, a revolutionary product for video service operators and digital retailers, transforms the traditionally cumbersome process of managing the content rights and avails from studios, via spreadsheets and emails, to an automated flow of data through APIs. Vubiquity, an industry heavyweight in managing rights and avails, will utilize Connect to consolidate rights and avails data flowing from hundreds of content providers, and BeBanjo's Movida product to schedule content for delivery to their video service provider clients around the globe. Movida will allow Vubiquity to improve both control and productivity within their non-linear scheduling team.

"Mediamorph Connect and BeBanjo Movida offer best in breed software products. We are excited about working with Vubiquity and providing them our tools," said Michael Sid, Co-Founder and CEO of Mediamorph.

"BeBanjo and Mediamorph products are complementary. They are designed specifically to simplify the running of complex non-linear services, such as Vubiquity's. We are proud to have been selected by Vubiquity, to bring new efficiencies to their global operations," said François Chabat, CEO of BeBanjo.

The Internet of Things will greatly expand the opportunities for data collection and new business models driven off of that data. In her session at @ThingsExpo, Esmeralda Swartz, CMO of MetraTech, discussed how for this to be effective you not only need to have infrastructure and operational models capable of utilizing this new phenomenon, but increasingly service providers will need to convince a skeptical public to participate. Get ready to show them the money!
How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...
WebRTC defines no default signaling protocol, causing fragmentation between WebRTC silos. SIP and XMPP provide possibilities, but come with considerable complexity and are not designed for use in a web environment. The definition of IoT is not new, in fact it’s been around for over a decade. What has changed is the public's awareness that the technology we use on a daily basis has caught up on the vision of an always on, always connected world. If you look into the details of what comprises the IoT, you’ll see that it includes everything from cloud computing, Big Data analytics, “Things,” Web communication, applications, network, storage, etc. It is essentially including everything connected online from ha...
The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp. When working with time series data there are a few core principles that everyone should consider, especially across datasets where time is the common boundary. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Scott, Director of Enterprise Strategy & Architecture at MapR Technologies, discussed single-value, geo-spatial, and log time series dat...
