Top Online Nutrition Retailer Selects HighJump WMS in the Cloud

Muscle & Strength Sought Adaptable Cloud-Based Solution Powerful Enough to Handle Large Inventory Volumes

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwired) -- 06/10/14 -- HighJump Software, a global provider of supply chain management software, announced that Muscle & Strength, one of the most popular fitness websites and online nutrition retailers in the U.S., has chosen HighJump™ Warehouse Advantage warehouse management system (WMS) in the cloud. Muscle & Strength sought a cloud-based solution that was powerful enough to manage tens of thousands of orders per day, yet flexible enough to meet to specific operations requirements.

With the HighJump WMS in the cloud, Muscle & Strength will target three key areas to enhance: increased picking accuracy, tracking staff productivity data to ensure more efficient use of labor resources, and inventory visibility in order to locate a product at any stage in the receiving or fulfillment process. Ultimately, improvements in all of these areas will allow Muscle & Strength to plan more accurately and operate more efficiently.

"We needed a cloud-based WMS that was flexible enough to serve our unique company needs but powerful enough to handle our large order volumes," said Damien Mase, CEO, Muscle & Strength. "The HighJump WMS will meet these requirements and help turn our supply chain into a competitive advantage for us."

"The architecture of our cloud-based WMS is the same as our installed version, giving Muscle & Strength the power and flexibility of an on-premise WMS," said Gary Nemmers, senior vice president and general manager, supply chain execution group, HighJump Software. "The company will have the solutions it needs to improve its business now, with the ability to leverage additional capabilities in the future as needed."

HighJump Software began offering a cloud-based WMS in 2010, making it one of the first leading WMS providers to do so.

What do a firewall and a fortress have in common? They are no longer strong enough to protect the valuables housed inside. Like the walls of an old fortress, the cracks in the firewall are allowing the bad guys to slip in - unannounced and unnoticed. By the time these thieves get in, the damage is already done and the network is already compromised. Intellectual property is easily slipped out the back door leaving no trace of forced entry. If we want to reign in on these cybercriminals, it's hig...

Container frameworks, such as Docker, provide a variety of benefits, including density of deployment across infrastructure, convenience for application developers to push updates with low operational hand-holding, and a fairly well-defined deployment workflow that can be orchestrated. Container frameworks also enable a DevOps approach to application development by cleanly separating concerns between operations and development teams. But running multi-container, multi-server apps with containers ...

Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...
