SVForum today announced their upcoming half-day conference “Next-Gen Education,” to be held at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 24th, 2014. After decades of playing a supplementary role in education, the global Silicon Valley community—from technologists to venture capitalists—is disrupting the delivery of education at its foundation. At SVForum’s upcoming Next-Gen Education conference, attendees will learn from veteran educators, policy makers, investors, and edtech entrepreneurs on the productive use of technology to transform education on every level, from pre-K to lifelong learning. Speakers and panelists will include Karen Cator of Digital Promise, Matt Greenfield of ReThink Education, Heather Hiles of Pathbrite, Ben Nelson of Minerva Project, and many more.
“We’re very much looking forward to this event,” stated SVForum CEO Adiba Barney. “The role that technology has in transforming education on a broad scale cannot be underestimated. We’re excited to learn from some of the best minds in the industry about what’s ahead for the students of the future.”
At Next-Gen Education, attendees will hear discussions and keynotes on a variety of edtech issues, including big data and privacy in education, use of predictive learning analytics to achieve the goals of Common Core, public-private partnership in STEM and education reform, edtech business model innovations, next generation MOOCs and SPOCs, and the power of technology to democratize and personalize education for learners of all ages. Expert panelists and keynote speakers will explore the ways in which technology is poised to transform education: the current state of the market, the possibilities and predictions for the future of a dynamic, technology-enabled education, and the advancements we’re already beginning to see. To round out the discussion, Next-Gen Education will address the digital learning gap—and how educators, policy makers, Silicon Valley philanthropists and edtech innovators are working to close it.
Stated Larry Kane, Partner at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP, “Orrick takes pride in supporting productive use of technology for education and we are honored to serve as sponsor of the SVForum’s Next-Gen Education conference.”
"Microsoft is proud to be a sponsor of Next-Gen Education," said Matt Thompson, General Manager of developer experience & evangelism at Microsoft. "Technology has great potential to transform education, and we're excited to see what the future holds."
