Extension Healthcare announced today that it will host a four-part webinar series to guide hospitals seeking accreditation for The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal for clinical alarm safety. Accrediting hospitals must establish clinical alarm safety as a hospital priority by July 1, 2014.
Beginning with the first webinar on June 24, the series will offer guidance that will help hospitals implement an effective alarm safety strategy to ensure compliance with TJC. Industry experts and Extension customers like Palomar Health will discuss how to develop comprehensive and sustainable alarm management policies and processes that eliminate non-actionable alarms, reduce alarm fatigue, and protect patients from unnecessary safety risks.
Each webinar is planned in succession; registrants are encouraged to attend all four presentations to understand the full scope of alarm management and the range of guidance available. By the end of the series, attendees will have the knowledge to steer their alarms committee down the path to compliance.
The webinar series is geared toward hospital leaders and members of alarm safety committees including Nurse, IT, and Biomed Directors and Executives, RNs, Respiratory Therapists, and Directors of Quality and Risk Management. The series may also be of interest to industry analysts, media, and other organizations promoting alarm safety. Those who recently attended the Extension Healthcare-sponsored AAMI/HTSI clinical alarms webinar series will also find additional value in this series.
