MANHEIM, PA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/16/14 -- Industrial explosion is a calamity that can cost millions of dollars for industrial property owners and enormous liability from loss of human life. Perilous volatile industrial environments are a reality in today's industrial workplace that requires special equipment to help eliminate a catastrophic explosion. Recently Harrington Hoists, Inc. rolled out their new AL Series - ATEX certified (Ex) spark resistant and lube free air hoist product line for an on camera demonstration for Industry Visions Industrial News.
"Harrington's AL Series - ATEX certified spark resistant and lube free air hoist features have destined this new product line to lead the field for use in volatile industrial environments," said VP of Business Development, Bret Lussow. "The risks of explosion in unstable industrial environments involve two components, dust and gases. Obviously petrochemical companies and refineries are extremely vulnerable to risk from the smallest spark that can ignite vapors. Other industrial sectors where there is a clear and present danger include bulk bag handling, grain elevators and paint booths of all sizes where even a small spark can cause dust or gas to combust into a conflagration."
"Harrington's new AL Series - ATEX certified spark resistant and lube free air hoist meets the safety challenges of working in some of these hazardous environments," said Lussow. "In fact this hoist meets the European Union ATEX Directive - ll 2GD c T5 llB T100 degrees C which is a stringent European safety standard for spark resistant compliance in industrial hoists. Harrington also complies with special plating on the bottom steel hook and chain that helps to eliminate 'Friction Spark' in the event two steel components would clash during a rigging activity."
Another feature that is important to applications like food processing, pharmaceutical and plastic film manufacturing is that the unit can operate lube free. The hoist has special vanes that do not require oil -- this is especially important in applications like food processing where exposure to lubricants could contaminate their process control. AL Series hoists can also operate with lubrication, if the application permits, which will increase the vane life even further.
Harrington's ATEX certified (Ex) spark resistant and lube free air hoist is a terrific addition to the Harrington Hoists, Inc. family of products. If your process requires spark resistant and / or lube free lifting, it's time you joined the revolution!
Harrington Hoists, Inc. is one of America's oldest manufacturing companies with plants in Manheim, PA, Elizabethtown, PA, and Corona, CA. Harrington is a KITO Group company and also distributes products in South America under the KITO brand.

The major cloud platforms defy a simple, side-by-side analysis. Each of the major IaaS public-cloud platforms offers their own unique strengths and functionality. Options for on-site private cloud are diverse as well, and must be designed and deployed while taking existing legacy architecture and infrastructure into account. Then the reality is that most enterprises are embarking on a hybrid cloud strategy and programs. In this Power Panel at 15th Cloud Expo (http://www.CloudComputingExpo.com...

Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...

The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...

The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...
