TP-LINK Canada Inc. today announced the power wall-mountable Universal range extender: the TP-LINK® RE200 AC750 Universal Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender. The sleek miniature device is designed to conveniently extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network.
The next-gen 802.11ac wireless range extender is designed to work with any Wi-Fi router and is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and 802.11ac devices. Users can now expand the total range of their 11ac networks and enjoy 802.11ac speeds of up to 750Mbps. The TP-LINK RE200 offers simultaneous throughput of up to 300Mbps for 2.4GHz networks and an additional 433Mbps wireless transfer rate at 5GHz.
The new range extender includes advanced 64/128/152-bit WEP, WPA-PSK/ WPA2-PSK encryptions to protect networks from potential security threats.
Easy Set-Up and Flexible Deployment
Users can readily deploy the device within range of an existing wireless network: simply press the WPS button on the main router and the Range Extender button on the RE200, and within 2 minutes a network connection is established. Login credentials are retained internally after initial setup, allowing users to relocate the device for optimal network coverage.
Additionally, the built-in Ethernet port allows the Range Extender to function as a dual-band wireless adapter to connect wired devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles, and Blu-ray® players. At the same time, the device can share the wireless network with mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets.
TP-LINK RE200 Highlights
-- Simultaneous Dual Band, with maximum speeds up to 300Mbps at 2.4GHz and 433Mbps at 5GHz -- Range Extender mode easily boosts wireless signal to previously unreachable or hard-to-wire areas in a home or office -- Miniature size and wall-mounted design make it easy to deploy and move as needed -- Easily expand wireless coverage at a push of the Range Extender button -- Ethernet port allows the Extender to function as a dual-band wireless adapter to connect wired devices -- Smart Signal Indicator Light helps to find the right location to place the range extender
"The new TP-LINK RE200 wireless range extender expands networks and boosts wireless signals to previously unreachable or hard-to-wire areas of a home or office," says Mark Macaulay, director of sales for TP-LINK Canada. "Users can now enjoy seamless connectivity to their wireless mobile devices and wireline smart TVs or game consoles when the extender acts as Wi-Fi adapter using the built-in Ethernet port connection."
Macaulay adds, "The TP-LINK RE200 can be placed wherever there is a power socket. A Smart Signal Indicator Light helps determine the best location to wall mount the device for 'dead zone' elimination. It's that simple for users to enjoy smooth HD video, music streaming and online gaming."
The TP-LINK RE200 will be available in Q4, 2014 from TP-LINK's vast retail and online partner network across Canada. For additional product information visit: http://www.tp-link.com/ca/products/details/?categoryid=1247&model=RE200#over

Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...
