Suncadia Ends First Half of the Year With More Than $30 Million in Real Estate Sales

Washington State's All-Season Resort Community Continues to Be at the Forefront of the Second Home Market in the Pacific Northwest

ROSLYN, WA--(Marketwired - June 25, 2014) - Suncadia, Washington state's year-round mountain resort community located 80 miles east of Seattle, has ended the first half of 2014 with its best real estate year since 2008.

Since January 2014, Suncadia had 99 real estate transactions, producing approximately $30 million in sales for homes, homesites and condominiums ranging in price from $80,000 to $2 million. This is about a 30 percent increase in sales from this time last year. Since properties became available in 2003, more than 1,420 home sites, custom homes and condominiums have been purchased, with 155 of those sales taking place in 2013. Fifty-eight custom home construction started in 2013 with another 70 projected for 2014. Suncadia's median home price is $775,000, compared to the King County's median price of approximately $420,000 for a single-family home.

"Our sales numbers show us that buyers are looking for a setting like Suncadia where they can experience a unique Pacific Northwest mountain escape with their loved ones in the comfort of their own home," said Richard Seay, vice president, director of sales and marketing for Suncadia. "With Suncadia being a little over an hour away, our owners tend to use their vacation home a couple of times per month. That, along with our community setting, allows our owners to get away and just relax, reconnect and have fun. It's a lifestyle that we're selling here at Suncadia."

Nine distinct Suncadia neighborhoods offer a variety of styles -- Suncadia for a resort village experience near The Lodge, Rope Rider, Prospector, Black Nugget, Trailhead and Prospector's Reach communities; Nelson Preserve for dramatic views and easy access to the river; and Tumble Creek, including The Cabins at Tumble Creek, for a private retreat on estate homesites.

Suncadia offers homeowners a variety of amenities including Prospector and Rope Rider award winning resort golf courses, Portals Restaurant, the Suncadia Club Swim & Fitness Center and Glade Spring Spa. Suncadia is the only resort of its kind to feature a winery within its boundaries, Swiftwater Cellars, which crushes grapes on-site and makes premium Swiftwater Cellars' wines. In addition, Tumble Creek Club members have access to the private Tom Doak designed golf course, glamorous camping of Sasse Mountain outpost, and their own private Hill House Swim & Fitness Center.

Seasonal activities and events at the property include the Suncadia Summer Nights in the Village Outdoor Concerts Series, Cycling Festival, and annual Swiftwater Classic golf tournament, Harvest Festival and Winterfest, outdoor concerts at Swiftwater Cellars, miles of hiking and biking trails, winter ice skating and tubing hill, guided fly fishing tours, paddle board rentals and much more. Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...
The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago.
