MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/07/06 -- Ciprico Inc. (NASDAQ: CPCI), a leading provider of storage software, services and solutions for digital media assets, announced today that Mark J. Moran has joined the company as the Chief Engineer. Moran is responsible for all software and hardware development at the company.

Moran joins Ciprico from IBM where since 2005 he had served as a software architect in the Engineering and Technology Services group in Rochester, Minnesota.

Prior to joining IBM in 2005, Moran spent 12 years at Computer Network Technology (CNT) in a variety of positions, the most recent of which was as a senior consulting engineer and product architect in CNT's Advanced Technology Group. In that role, he led the product development lifecycle for CNT products that ultimately produced more than $1.0 billion in revenue. Prior to that, he was lead software engineer for CNT's Advanced Technology Group and a lead software engineer for CNT's UltraNet Engineering Group. He also held senior software engineering positions at Cray Research, Supercomputer Systems, Inc., IBM and Control Data Corporation. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science.

"Mark brings to Ciprico a 20-year track record of defining and developing storage software technology solutions," said James Hansen, Chairman and chief executive officer at Ciprico. "His extensive hands-on approach to engineering experience crosses a breath of embedded technologies. As the new chief engineer at Ciprico, I am confident that he will be an effective leader for our engineering organization and our expanding team looks forward to working with him."

Mark and his wife Adele live in Woodbury, Minnesota.
