JACKSONVILLE, FL --(Marketwired - June 26, 2014) - From the beaches in the coast to the river in the urban core, Jacksonville is going all-out this Fourth of July and we want you to celebrate with us! The "River City by the Sea" is offering multiple ways to enjoy America's birthday and you still have plenty of time to book a getaway to our natural water wonderland and enjoy the biggest patriotic party our city has even thrown.
Begin your holiday getaway in Downtown Jacksonville, where the Jacksonville Landing is hosting the annual City of Jacksonville's Fourth of July Celebration, complete with food, drinks, entertainment and concluding with the main event: a spectacular fireworks show over the St. Johns River. Less than a mile in either direction from the Jacksonville Landing, four other big bashes are taking place. Head South to the Riverside Arts Market (RAM), a fireworks viewing party will take place under the Fuller Warren Bridge with craft beers, local food trucks, family games and live music. A mile north, a new celebration, enjoy the 4th of July Party at the Shipyards on Bay Street. Waterslides, volleyball, BBQ, arts and crafts and live entertainment are on that party's agenda. A mile east, enjoy another spectacular view of the fireworks at Friendship Fountain Park on the Southbank. And next to the Jacksonville Landing, view the celebration this year at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel. The hotel is opening its riverfront deck to visitors giving them yet another spectacular view of the Fourth of July firework celebration in Downtown Jacksonville.
And that's not all. In Jacksonville, we take our fireworks shows very seriously, so we are not just putting on one amazing show, we'll have two.
Celebrate the nation's birthday in Jacksonville Beach. Enjoy a big beach party and second fireworks show right on the sand. The fireworks will be coming from the Jacksonville Beach Pier, which allows for a perfect viewing point from anywhere in Jacksonville's Atlantic Coast. Visit the Beaches Town Center in Atlantic Beach and enjoy live music, food and specialty cocktails. Go to Pete's bar, the oldest bar in Jacksonville, and party with the locals or go to Lemon Bar and enjoy a frozen beverage. In Jacksonville Beach, pack a picnic and relax at the SeaWalk Pavilion or find the perfect spot on the sand and enjoy the waves.
If all that isn't enough, Jacksonville has more events this Fourth of July, such as the Jacksonville Suns vs. Chattanooga Lookouts, $4 Fourth of July at MOSH, the Throwback Baseball Game on the 4th and the Celebration 5K.
