LineStream Technologies Named "Cool Vendor" for Embedded Software and Systems by Gartner

CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 06/27/14 -- LineStream Technologies, a leading provider of embedded software solutions, today announced that it has been named a "Cool Vendor" in the Embedded Software and Systems, April 2014 report authored by Gartner.

"We believe being named a Gartner Cool Vendor validates our mission to make control simple," said Dave Neundorfer, President & CEO of LineStream Technologies. "Our partners provide the hardware and we deliver embedded control software that accelerates customers' time to market and improves application performance."

LineStream is addressing the two biggest challenges in the automated product market today; design complexity and performance degradation. These challenges are the result of the decades-old control algorithm called proportional-integral-derivative (PID).

These two challenges -- elusive performance and complex tuning -- inevitably introduce risk into an OEM's development timelines, launch schedules and product quality.

LineStream has developed a drag and drop replacement for PID that addresses these challenges with intuitive software that simplifies tuning and optimizes the behavior of end applications.

"LineStream's controller tuning is a simple set it and forget it approach, which delivers and sustains ideal performance across the entire operating range," said Neundorfer. LineStream Technologies provides a revolutionary approach for advanced control for semiconductor, drive and automation systems companies enabling partners and customers to accelerate design cycles and increase application performance.

According to this Gartner report, embedded software and systems are fast becoming a vital differentiating factor for companies competing in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain.

Gartner points out that these reports are meant to help organizations filter out hype; hone in on worthwhile innovations, and identify those vendors that are inflection points in market evolution. Through statistical analysis, Gartner has found that the innovative value of the Cool Vendor mention lasts over time. Indeed, Gartner Cool Vendor reports have spotted successful companies.
