ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 09, 2014) - Atlanta Technology Leaders was live on July 3, 2014 with guest Bill VanCuren, CIO with NCR Corporation and was guest-hosted by Jay Ferro, CIO with the American Cancer Society for a special spotlight on the Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA).
Bill VanCuren has been with NCR, the world leader in consumer transaction technologies, for 30 years and has held the position of CIO for over six years. VanCuren discussed how their use of software, hardware and a portfolio of services allows the company to make more than 450 million transactions possible every day.
While NCR has been in business for over 100 years, the last two to three years has seen the company change with the acquisition of software companies in the retail and financial space. As CIO, VanCuren has faced challenges with equipping NCR's software engineers with the best technology to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
"It has been a constant learning journey not just over the last two years, but over the whole 30 years as NCR has gone through many transformations," explained VanCuren.
An important part of VanCuren's role at NCR is relationship development with the company's strategic partners. "A partnership is tested over time, earning mutual trust by working together and creating a co-dependency with one another," he said.
