Nomorobo Partners With VOIPO to Protect Subscribers From Annoying and Illegal Robocalls

Nomorobo's Simple-to-Activate Service Is Now a Key Feature Offered to VOIPO's Existing Customer Base

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/14 -- Nomorobo, the free service that effectively blocks robocalls and telemarketers from reaching a person's phone, today announced a partnership with VOIPO, a fast-growing US-based Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider. Since Nomorobo's public launch in October 2013, it has blocked more than four and a half million malicious robocalls from reaching consumers. Today, VOIPO is the first provider to directly integrate the Nomorobo service into its offerings.

As the winner of the FTC's Robocall Challenge, Nomorobo has effectively unlocked the secret to eliminating robocalls. Even though more people are signing up for the Do Not Call registry than ever before, the FTC is still receiving a record number of complaints about unwanted calls.

Worse than mere annoyance, illegal robocalls can lead to fraud. 376 million dollars were lost to phone fraud over the past year. Between 2011 and 2013, that number climbed to over 1 billion dollars. Typically, phone frauds target consumers over 50 years of age. Nomorobo's technology is able to block illegal robocalls while not affecting legitimate robocalls, such as doctor's appointment notifications and school cancellations.

"We're excited to have partnered with Nomorobo to integrate their innovative telemarketing and robocall blocking technology with our service so that our users can more easily stop unwanted calls," noted Timothy Dick, Founder and CEO of VOIPO. "VoIP as a technology is about more than saving money. This is a great example of how VoIP services can provide superior feature sets when compared to cellular or landline services."

"Nomorobo is dedicated to eradicating the problem of robocalls once and for all," said Nomorobo Founder, Aaron Foss. "By partnering with VOIPO, we are able to vastly expand our network of users. VOIPO's customers will now be able to enjoy the protection of Nomorobo right from their account control panel. It couldn't be easier for them to keep their phone line safe from spammers, scammers and frauds."

About Nomorobo

Nomorobo is a free online service that effectively blocks illegal robocalls from a person's phone. Nomorobo uses a service called "simultaneous ring" that is provided by most VoIP phone companies. This feature allows incoming calls to be routed to a second telephone line. Nomorobo forces this second line to identify and hang up on illegal robocalls before they can ring through to the user. In high-production environments where release cycles are measured in hours or minutes — not days or weeks — there's little room for mistakes and no room for confusion. Everyone has to understand what's happening, in real time, and have the means to do whatever is necessary to keep applications up and running optimally. DevOps is a high-stakes world, but done well, it delivers the agility and performance to significantly impact business competitiveness.

The major cloud platforms defy a simple, side-by-side analysis. Each of the major IaaS public-cloud platforms offers their own unique strengths and functionality.
