SCA Buys Majority Stake in the Argentus Partners Platform to Create a Powerful Combination

DALLAS, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/14 -- SCA announces today that it has acquired a majority position in the Argentus Partners platform. The two firms combine forces and will create the next generation of customization in the Turnkey Asset Management ("TAMP") platform space.

Strategic Capital Alternatives (SCA), a premier money management and investment consulting firm, continues its growth trajectory by adding new RIA firms and Assets Under Management ("AUM") at a rapid pace. SCA has flourished from a combination of organic growth and targeting the under-served market of RIA firms between $100 - 500 million of AUM. Additionally, in the past year, SCA has established an acquisition strategies business to help its target advisors attain the capital needed to acquire other firms and grow their practices.

Argentus Partners has been building its investment and technology platform over the past 12 years. With years of experience the veteran platform is hitting its stride in 2014, as it completes several new technology initiatives that will solidify its leadership in the build-to-suit segment of the TAMP market.

"We are very impressed at the vision and the experience of the Argentus team. In the platform space, advisors expect great service and want to work with firms that really understand their business. Argentus has both," says Timothy Feehan, CEO of SCA. He adds, "When you combine experience and first class service with flexible, cutting-edge technology, you have something special."

In recent years there have been several mergers and acquisitions in the turnkey platform space, impacting both independent platforms and Broker Dealers with in-house advisory platforms. With all of this activity and consolidation, RIA's and hybrids are becoming more and more demanding as to what they want from their platform providers.

"Argentus values the growth strategy and distribution plan SCA has crafted. We are very excited about the future with SCA. With added AUM and revenue, Argentus will be able to increase our commitment to technology development, making the advisor experience even more robust," says Douglas Gill, CEO of Argentus Partners. "Additionally, SCA brings expertise in, and access to both liquid and direct alternative, non-correlated strategies that we feel will be crucial in the coming years."

Combined, SCA and Argentus offer advisors a bespoke investment platform backed with great service, cutting edge technology and a comprehensive array of traditional money management choices. In addition, between the two companies, SCA and Argentus have amassed an impressive collection of non-traditional offerings. These include options based strategies, actively traded ETF strategies from highly sought after firms, and access to alternative strategies built for retail advisors and investors through a tailor-made delivery process.

The definition of IoT is not new, in fact it’s been around for over a decade. Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...
The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...

The major cloud platforms defy a simple, side-by-side analysis. Each of the major IaaS public-cloud platforms offers their own unique strengths and functionality.
