Codeship, the simplest Continuous Delivery platform, today announced a freemium version to help developers release products quickly to better meet customers’ needs. Codeship Freemium is the company’s entry-level plan that lets customers access its full suite of capabilities at no charge.
Codeship Freemium allows users to experience the company's full set of software deployment features before moving up to the next level. Freemium is ideal for small teams and individual projects. This version is also free for open source software developers. Freemium customers will have limited resources at their disposal and can easily switch to Codeship Basic for full support.
“Codeship was an easy choice for us early on,” said Adam Buggia, engineering director at Localytics. “Codeship has been able to provide reliable resources, products and expertise as we've expanded our team and code base. I trust Codeship to deliver what we need as we continue to grow.”
Companies like Amazon and Google have changed the way products are released. The ability to deploy products quickly and iteratively has become the new norm—or at the very least—the best practice. Codeship was built with the mission of allowing companies of all sizes to stay at this same agile development pace, while keeping costs down and productivity high. It does this by turning what’s traditionally been a manual release process into an automated one and making it easy for development teams to test and deploy new software.
“We’re also developers, so we understand how important it is to the developer community to play and experiment with tools before investing in them,” said Moritz Plassnig, co-founder and CEO, Codeship. “We introduced our freemium level offering to provide developers with an opportunity to experience how user-friendly and simple it is to release software using Codeship. As a startup, we recognize the need for efficiency and want to make it easier for other startups to innovate.”
Users can sign up for Codeship Freemium here. There is no limit on the free trial, and users can gain access to additional builds and premium support with Codeship Basic for $49 per month and Codeship Pro for $149 per month. The launch of Freemium marks a major evolution in Continuous Delivery, with Codeship rolling out additional offerings for enterprise customers in the future.
Codeship is the simplest Continuous Delivery platform that acts as your release engineers so you can better meet your customer needs’ by developing and releasing products quickly. Codeship turns a manual release process into an automated one by making it incredibly easy for developers to test and deploy new software – fast, reliably and securely – without taxing their own team or experiencing downtime. We help teams build the best products imaginable by allowing them to focus on product development rather than on testing and releasing software. Thanks to Docker, it becomes very easy to leverage containers to build, ship, and run any Linux application on any kind of infrastructure. Docker is particularly helpful for microservice architectures because their successful implementation relies on a fast, efficient deployment mechanism – which is precisely one of the features of Docker. Microservice architectures are therefore becoming more popular, and are increasingly seen as an interesting option even for smaller projects, instead of bein...
