Arlington Independent School District Selects the eScholar Data Solution

Arlington ISD in Texas Chooses eScholar Complete Data Warehouse(R) Solution as the Advanced Data Management Platform to Help 64,000 Students Achieve Today. Excel Tomorrow.

WHITE PLAINS, NY--(Marketwired - July 16, 2014) - eScholar®, the leader in data solutions for personalized education, today announced that the Arlington Independent School District has selected eScholar as its data warehouse provider to provide integrated information from the district's multiple existing information systems. The eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® solution will serve the 64,000 students enrolled in the Arlington ISD, the 11th largest district in Texas and the 60th largest in the U.S.

A key part of the mission of the Arlington ISD's ambitious strategic plan, Achieve Today. Excel Tomorrow., is to enable all of their students to reach their maximum potential. This requires a proven, comprehensive data warehouse to store and report the data necessary to understand and achieve student objectives, which includes having 100 percent of students graduate on time. Previously with information isolated in different systems, doing a comprehensive analysis on student progress was a challenge.

Now, with the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse®, the district can integrate data from multiple sources into a single, unified system. As part of the eScholar solution, district administrators will be able to view informative dashboards of district report card items that align with their strategic plan, such as the percentage of students on track to graduate. The Arlington ISD will have a synthesized view of each school and can track improvement in performance metrics such as the STAAR assessment. The district can also customize status indicators and annotations to highlight actionable information. The eScholar solution also meets the district's rigorous security requirements designed to protect student privacy and data integrity.

The Arlington ISD plans to go live with the dashboards beginning this fall in a phased approach that will include teachers, students and parents. Planning between the eScholar and Arlington ISD teams is already well underway, addressing implementation, change management and data governance.

"In the 18 years I've been implementing new technology projects in this district, this group has been one of the more prepared groups, with a plan for the project," said Mark Murray, Director of Technical Services and System Integration, Arlington ISD. "eScholar understands our mission and vision in helping students achieve success. With their solution, we can track complex goals and performance indicators that provide improved and actionable insight."

Because the eScholar solution is built on the same foundation as the Texas Student Data System (TSDS), it creates efficiency for the Arlington ISD. The district can add to the data already collected for the state and use the combined and more actionable information to help students succeed.

"The Arlington ISD joins a strong eScholar customer community in Texas," says Shawn Bay, eScholar CEO and Founder. "We've built a great partnership with the Texas Education Agency and by working together with the Arlington ISD, we can continue to make an even greater impact helping individual students. Our shared mission is to deliver a more efficient infrastructure that supports state level needs as well as the teachers, students, parents, and staff in districts."

With the Arlington ISD on board, eScholar continues to generate momentum in Texas to integrate, analyze and apply data that can help personalize education for individual students. eScholar solutions have been used by local education agencies through the implementation of TSDS, which has been met with positive reactions. Most recently, the eScholar Uniq-ID® solution component of TSDS won the 2014 Best of Texas Award from The Center for Digital Government as the Best Application Serving the Public. Uniq-ID® was deployed statewide through the Texas Education Agency.
