MakerBot and Adorama Partner to Offer MakerBot 3D Printing and Scanning Products in New York Store and Online

Starting today, there will be even more ways in New York City and beyond to experience and purchase MakerBot® Desktop 3D Printers and Scanners in person. MakerBot and Adorama have launched an exclusive in-store partnership and reseller agreement that makes MakerBot the “3D Printing Partner of Choice” for the New York-based Adorama store, one of Consumer Reports’ top five electronics retailers. The Adorama flagship store located at 42 West 18th Street in New York City will showcase MakerBot 3D products exclusively. MakerBot products are also available online at adorama.com, which has earned a spot on Internet Retailer’s Top 100 list and a “Best of the Web” nod from Forbes.com.

Adorama will feature a dedicated area where MakerBot Replicator® Desktop 3D Printers and the MakerBot Digitizer™ Desktop 3D Scanner, as well as MakerBot Filaments, will be demonstrated and sold. Adorama believes its core customer base of photography and video enthusiasts will be very interested in MakerBot’s 3D printing capabilities.

“MakerBot’s agreement with Adorama is a major step forward in expanding our retail presence to bring 3D printing to a variety of different retailers and locations,” noted Mark Schulze, vice president of sales for MakerBot. “In the past three decades, Adorama has evolved from its modest beginning as a mom-and-pop store to become one of the best known and most respected retailers for photo, video and imaging products. Adorama’s passion for innovation, creativity and customer service makes the store a great addition for showcasing the exciting 3D printing technology that MakerBot offers.”

MakerBot, a leader in the desktop 3D printing industry, has been expanding its retail footprint by partnering with leading retailers like Adorama, and is excited to see how this expansion will help bring 3D printing to a core of enthusiastic and sophisticated consumers.

“3D printing represents a major step forward for creativity and aligns perfectly with the needs and interests of the photographers and videographers that Adorama serves. We look forward to joining MakerBot in the Next Industrial Revolution as we welcome MakerBot Desktop 3D Printers and Scanners into our retail and online stores,” said Brian Green, vice president of marketing with Adorama. Green also noted that photographers, videographers and sound technicians have proven to be among some of the most prolific users of MakerBot 3D printing products, creating clips, holders, mounts, rails and other accessories according to their own needs and specifications.
