FOOTHILL RANCH, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/22/14 -- With its ongoing commitment to serve the communications needs of federal, state and local government agencies and educational institutions, Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) announced today it has been awarded a new technology state term contract 534478 by Ohio's Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Ohio's DAS awards such contracts to streamline the buying process for government agencies and educational institutions across the state.
Ohio's DAS provides quality centralized services, specialized support and innovative solutions to state agencies, boards and commissions as well as local governments and state universities. The department has more than 40 program areas serving Ohio government customers.
"Our reputation as a premier communications solutions provider for government and education is very important to us," said Denny Michael, AVST's Vice President of Marketing. "We look forward to meeting the needs of Ohio's various state agencies with our highly-flexible Unified Communications platform."
Ohio's DAS is one of several awarded cooperative purchasing government and educational institution contracts that AVST has in place for purchasing its communications solutions, including GSA (U.S. General Services Administration), CMAS in California, NY OGS, and COSTARS and PEPPM in Pennsylvania.
For more than 30 years, AVST has delivered its CX-E communications platform to government and education sectors. AVST designed CX-E from the ground up to support the collection of technologies from multiple vendors that comprise communications landscapes today. AVST has built a loyal customer base of more than 1,400 federal, state and local government entities and more than 1,100 educational institutions. CX-E's productivity-enhancing applications include unified messaging; speech recognition; context-aware personal assistant; mobile client; automated attendant; call processing; voicemail; fax; notification and other business process integration capabilities.
The typical enterprise communications infrastructure is made up of a collection of technologies from multiple vendors, acquired over time and never intended to work together. To maximize user and business productivity, while leveraging existing IT investments, interoperability is a must.
AVST delivers the industry's most interoperable Unified Communications (UC) platform that brings best-of-breed voice, mobility and business process applications to the enterprise. Unlike virtually every other UC vendor, AVST does not constrain customers with a single vendor lock-in approach. In fact, it's the very opposite. By connecting new and existing technologies, AVST frees organizations from the constraints of a closed, single-source UC solution, unlocking the full potential of their communications infrastructure.
With over 15 million users worldwide and three decades of innovation excellence, AVST is unifying communications®.
Headquartered in Orange County, California, AVST maintains facilities in Seattle, Washington, Victoria B.C., Canada and the United Kingdom and has remote sales offices throughout the United States.
