sovrn and Temnos to Deliver Smarter Online Ads

sovrn Holdings, Inc., advocate of and partner to almost 20,000 publishers across the independent web, today announced it is partnering with Temnos, a leading content analytics company, to analyze, filter and organize millions of pages of content across sovrn’s network. Using the Temnos Content Intelligence Platform, sovrn will be able to deliver highly targeted content and more relevant online ads, giving publishers more opportunities to monetize their content and marketers the ability to maximize reach, performance and brand awareness.

The Temnos Content Intelligence Platform will analyze, filter, and organize millions of pages of content across the sovrn network into various audience segments. As a result, marketers can tap into targeted audiences with relevant content in order to maximize reach, performance, brand awareness and attitude.

“With Temnos, we can now offer unique audience segments to advertisers by leveraging deep semantic and contextual data which complements the reader and social data we currently collect,” said Keith Fagan, SVP and GM of Data Solutions at sovrn. “Temnos will provide accurate, engaged audience segmentation that will enhance targeting on and off the sovrn network.”

Additionally, Temnos and sovrn will be able to identify publishers’ content at a deeper level than common categorization or keywords to yield better opportunities for monetization. Consumers will ultimately see more relevant ads that fit their interests with the content they are already consuming. They will be more receptive to brand messaging without the distraction of irrelevant advertising.

“With more than 1.5 million web sites and 60 million unique readers everyday, sovrn needs a sophisticated technology solution that can help them analyze data at scale so they can help their publisher and marketing partners reach their goals,” said Tim Musgrove, CEO and co-founder, Temnos. “Working together, sovrn and Temnos will produce unique, high-value audience segments that will set sovrn apart for their ability to deliver ad campaigns that are more successful per dollar spent.”

About Temnos

Founded in 2014, Temnos is a content analytics company that works with publishers and advertisers to analyze, filter and organize content to make it more engaging to visitors and more valuable to marketers. Using its sophisticated semantic technology, Temnos creates metadata that content owners and advertisers use for filtering out spam and potentially unsafe content; organizing content into major categories; identifying elements such as title, author, and language; tagging content to create related collections; and match readers with content and advertising that fit their interests. Temnos can also generate titles and headlines for documents as well as auto-create abstracts of varying lengths. With this data, publishers are able to create more relevant content that results in more time spent on their sites, more page views and more revenue opportunities for marketers who want to reach the right audiences. To learn more visit www.temnos.com.

The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp. When working with time series data there are a few core principles that everyone should consider, especially across datasets where time is the common boundary. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Scott, Director of Enterprise Strategy & Architecture at MapR Technologies, discussed single-value, geo-spatial, and log time series dat...

There's Big Data, then there's really Big Data from the Internet of Things. IoT is evolving to include many data possibilities like new types of event, log and network data. The volumes are enormous, generating tens of billions of logs per day, which raise data challenges. Early IoT deployments are relying heavily on both the cloud and managed service providers to navigate these challenges. In her session at Big Data Expo®, Hannah Smalltree, Director at Treasure Data, discussed how IoT, Big D...

What do a firewall and a fortress have in common? They are no longer strong enough to protect the valuables housed inside. Like the walls of an old fortress, the cracks in the firewall are allowing the bad guys to slip in - unannounced and unnoticed. By the time these thieves get in, the damage is already done and the network is already compromised. Intellectual property is easily slipped out the back door leaving no trace of forced entry. If we want to reign in on these cybercriminals, it's hig...
