The Buried Life Partners With Contiki Vacations to Grant Unforgettable Travel Wishes

Brianna's Story: When in Rome

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - July 22, 2014) - Today, the creators of MTV's The Buried Life and the #1 New York Times best seller, "What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?" released the first installment of their online video series with partner, Contiki Vacations, the worldwide leader in youth travel experiences. The Buried Life comprised of Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood have traveled the globe checking items off their bucket list while helping strangers do the same along the way. They are at again, this time fulfilling unforgettable travel wishes for young people by surprising worthy recipients with trips of a lifetime!

The first installment of the web series, "Brianna's Story," follows a young woman on her personal journey of self-discovery as she explores a new world abroad. Brianna Olguin never thought she would leave her hometown of Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico. One day while at school, The Buried Life and Contiki surprised her with a plane ticket and a rush trip to the passport office turning her dream of visiting Italy into a reality. Her father, a painter, had instilled in her the desire to see the world and see the works of the great Italian masters. With the help of The Buried Life and Contiki's Italian Espresso tour, she did. This moving, coming of age story unfolds as her journey abroad exploring Italy is documented by award winning filmmaker Jay Salbert. As you will see, it ends in tears at the Vatican.

Ben Nemtin of The Buried Life says, "Both The Buried Life and Contiki have built brands on fulfilling aspirations. We are thrilled about this partnership and believe in this experiential approach to engage viewers in an authentic and genuine way, thus ultimately inspiring our collective audiences to pursue their dreams."

"'This is a genuine partnership since we share similar values and Contiki is fully aligned in providing these amazing once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences which are all about self-discovery," says Marie Anne MacRae, Global VP of Strategic Partnerships, Contiki Vacations. "We're so excited to share this adventure with these four inspiring young men so we're committed to join forces and help more millennials fulfill their dreams."

More videos will be released in the coming the weeks with the next installment slated for August 11th. Most recently, in May 2014, The Buried Life along with the help of Hanger Clinic, surprised a girl named Torri Biddle (who was born without an arm) with a bionic arm in a scheme that stretched from Ohio to California over the course of several months. They documented the experience via video which went viral online. The Buried Life just wants to know: What do you want to do before you die?

ABOUT THE BURIED LIFE:
Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood started The Buried Life in their parent's garage in 2006. Since then, they've crossed off 'Make a TV Show (MTV)', 'Write a #1 New York Times Bestselling Book', 'Play Basketball with the President of the United States' as well as helped a father and son reunite after 17 years, put a recovering addict back on his feet, and outfit a teenage girl with her first bionic arm. The recent trends like cloud computing, social, mobile and Internet of Things are forcing enterprises to modernize in order to compete in the competitive globalized markets. The Modern Enterprise model is presented as a newer way to think of enterprise IT, which takes a more holistic approach to embracing modern technologies.
For better or worse, DevOps has gone mainstream. All doubt was removed when IBM and HP threw up their respective DevOps microsites. Where are we on the hype cycle? It's hard to say for sure but there's a feeling we're heading for the "Peak of Inflated Expectations." What does this mean for the enterprise? Should they avoid DevOps? Definitely not. Should they be cautious though? Absolutely. The truth is that DevOps and the enterprise are at best strange bedfellows. The movement has its roots in t...
The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. There's no doubt that the Internet of Things is driving the next wave of innovation. The OpenStack cloud operating system includes Trove, a database abstraction layer. Rather than applications connecting directly to a specific type of database, they connect to Trove, which in turn connects to one or more specific databases. One target database is Postgres Plus Cloud Database, which includes its own RESTful API. Trove was originally developed around MySQL, whose interfaces are significantly less complicated than those of the Postgres cloud database. In his session at 16th Cloud...
Over the years, a variety of methodologies have emerged in order to overcome the challenges related to project constraints. The successful use of each methodology seems highly context-dependent. However, communication seems to be the common denominator of the many challenges that project management methodologies intend to resolve. In this respect, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be viewed as powerful tools for managing projects. Few research papers have focused on the way...
As the world moves from DevOps to NoOps, application deployment to the cloud ought to become a lot simpler. However, applications have been architected with a much tighter coupling than it needs to be which makes deployment in different environments and migration between them harder. The microservices architecture, which is the basis of many new age distributed systems such as OpenStack, Netflix and so on is at the heart of CloudFoundry – a complete developer-oriented Platform as a Service (PaaS...
In high-production environments where release cycles are measured in hours or minutes — not days or weeks — there's little room for mistakes and no room for confusion. Everyone has to understand what's happening, in real time, and have the means to do whatever is necessary to keep applications up and running optimally. DevOps is a high-stakes world, but done well, it delivers the agility and performance to significantly impact business competitiveness.
